“Lovely Hotel, not much of a resort”

The hotel is set outside of Larnaca Town Centre in a 'will be resort'. The hotel itself had everything you could want as well as great food. A dangerous road outside the hotel made crossing to the few tavernas and shops a task at times as cars don't necessarily stop for the red light at crossing so be wary if you have children. We found a car was essential as we are not the 'stay in the hotel solid for the holiday' types. The room was comfortable and clean and serviced well every day with clean sheets.

“Perfect accomodation”

This is a top class hotel with service to match and friendly staff.

“Great hotel”

The hotel was very pleasant. The only reason for the four rating was because the food was quite expensive. But you could get a decent meal for €30 with drinks for two across the road. There was also a charge for the use of the spa area. But overall a very pleasant stay. Would go again and have recommended to people already. We went at the start of the holiday period when the hotel was not busy which meant the service was brilliant. Not sure what it would be like at the peak period. Finally the rooms were clean.

“Nice hotel. Lovely pool bar.”

If you want to stay in Larnaca, Golden Tulip is a good choice. Clean and comfortable rooms, right prices, great pool and pool bar. Staff is also kind and helpful.

“OK”

Hotel was well maintained and clean. Breakfast was scheduled for 07:00 but all items were not out and ready till around 07:30 each day. Beach was clean and very relaxing. All types of water sports available.

“Not Impressed”

I don't think this hotel should be categorized as a 5 star.

“Good hotel, but not a 5 star”

This hotel is listed as 5 star hotel, but does not meet the expectation. Good location, but the rooms, restaurants and health club are mediocre.

“A little tired”

The communal areas of the hotel were very nice, the bedrooms were a little tired and could do with modernising. We had an early start (4am) and all the hotel offered us was a cup of coffee, not sure that is 5*, pretty good value though.

“Not up to the 5* rating”

I booked a mini-suite and was extremely disappointed with the size and quality of the room. The carpet was very worn, the shower head wouldn't stay on the hook properly, the bath wasn't full size, the complimentary bottle of wine had nothing to open it with. Perhaps the only saving grace (even in March) was the hot tub on the veranda, although that churned out dirty brown water to begin with and took an age to empty and start again with help from the maintenance staff. I stayed at the Columbia Beach Resort in Pissouri last November and although that was only listed as 3* the standard of the room and in fact the hotel areas was 100% better than this one.

“Won't go back”

There was an issue on my room reservation, Expedia are partly to blame but the Hotel Management was totally unsympathetic and unhelpful. I had booked a Seaview Room and was given a Side Seaview, overlooked by 200 rooms at an adjoining Hotel, 50 metres, or so away. I could have been given a room on the Eastern side of the Hotel, which would have partly ameliorated the problem. When I arrived at the room allocated, the A/C in the room was not working, but this was quickly attended to, as was the fact that I discovered that the connecting doors to the adjoining room were unlocked. The room had obviously not been properly checked out. The loud noise from entertaining went on until 11.30 pm and a three and a half hour tenor saxophone recital from 8.00 to 11.30 one evening did not help the family in the next room to settle, particularly as I could hear everything through the connecting door. This is not a hotel for business travellers, or for families with small children if they are located on the Western side of the hotel, where the entertaining takes place.
