Arizona Charlie's is what it is!

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The location and staff.
Location: Nearby the place I was working.
While away from the Strip, Arizona Charlie's was a good choice for me because I had business nearby. The non-smoking room I had did not have a smoke odor. TV worked, Air conditioning worked, nice kind bed, clean bathroom. The only meal I had there was breakfast which was good. Nice wait staff in restaurant and as was the check-in/out staff at Reception Desk.

Just out of town

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Small enough to be friendly
Cons: get a better parking structure
Location: Just off the 95 North at Decatur quick on and off
Other than the parking lot shared with shopping center, hotel / casino is pleasant and staff is friendly. Great value for the buck.

What used to be a nice place, now not so much

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Location, price. In past it was also a nice room.
Cons: Renovate every floor in the hotel. Upgrade a little. Get a small exercise room. Better TV. Free Wifi. Better security
Location: Location is great for me, as friends near by.
AZ Charlies is a great local Casino that had nice rooms. It is still a nice local casino with friendly dealers and friendly staff. Rons Steakhouse is a great dinner choice for a nice dinner without high price tag and the Café is a great breakfast location. One step out of the elevator and in the hallway is where the experience declines dramatically. The hall carpet is same carpet when George W. was in office as is all the room decorations and furniture. There were two dozen, I actually counted them all, cigarette burns in the room. Some on the bathtub, some on the countertop, mostly on carpet and oddly one on the wall air conditioning unit. I don't smoke and I am not offended by people who do or a room that was a smokers as I do travel a lot and that isn't a big deal. My room had three ashtrays, three! The hotel doesn't have one treadmill, which I should have figured as much with the THREE ASHTRAYS in one room. I have stayed here many times in the past and would actually like to stay there again in the future as friends live close by and I prefer to not be on the strip with all the craziness but it will likely not happen as the room was just too old and shabby. The door was also a bit of a concern as it wasn't very secure so that is another strike against the old AZ Charlies. Maybe after this and other comments, they will renovate and make it a great local place that people can be proud to recommend.

Nice hotel in the city

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Somewhat outdated rooms but good for the price. The selection of casino slot machines are poor, there's virtually only the video style of slots and seemingly mostly penny slots. If you're not going to be gambling and just need a cheap hotel out of the way of everything this will do the job

My family is used to staying in very expensive places, so when I told them I booked AZ Charlies they were skeptical. But the hotel room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and best of all, affordable.

Pros: The beds and shower are great.
Cons: Don't like smoke. No hint of it in the room, but in the lobby it's pretty bad.
Location: Decatur is an artery close to many commercial areas.
Good location outside the Strip. Free parking and ewasy access.

Close to Freeway anyway

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Close to the freeway so we could get to our baseball games quick.
Cons: Update their refrigerators and put a coffee pot in the room or get a good coffee shop in the casino.
Location: Close to the freeway so we could get to our baseball games quick.
Refrigerator was old and made noises all night. There was no freeser drawer where we could keep our ice packs frozen. No coffee maker in the room and no coffee shop inside the casino. Restaurant was okay but the steak was so thin when the picture of the restaurant showed them being thick.
