Surprises around every turn

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: Valet service
Cons: More honesty prior to booking room on line.
Location: Red light district, by gentleman club and rainbow cabaret
Loud music nightly from 10 pm to 6 am, but were given complementary earplugs. If we would have known we would be staying in the red light district, we would not have stayed there. No restaurant in or anywhere near the hotel.

staying in a brothel

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: Offering food in house, so you didn't have to call to have food brought in.
Location: Hard to find. Nothing nearby to walk to.
I thought I walked into a brothel. Only 1 person working registration. They didn't have a café to have something to eat that was open. This was at 7pm. The room was OK.

Bad experience

Posted Apr 2, 2015
Had to wait 30 minutes before checking in because receptionist was no where to be found. Then when he did show up he was a total jerk.

Not the best and not the worst hotel

Posted Mar 31, 2015
The mattress was sloped in the middle, the window dressings were in need of repair and so did the bathroom. The air conditioner didn't worked intermittently.... thank God it wasn't during the summer. Otherwise, it was quiet and the housekeeping staff was friendly.

Never again!

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Worst place we have stayed at! From check in to last night horrible experience! DON'T let the fancy art & Internet pictures fool you. If you like to have a club outside of your window till 7 in the morning this is it. Smelled like old wet mold. Booked through Expedia, was sent confirmation stating we had paid deposit & other half would be charged at check in. I called the night i booked to verify there would be no other charged & verify our stay, was told only thing we would be paying bat check in was remainder of balance. When arrived there was an additional 150 deposit or 250 if you were doing cash? This was not anywhere on invoice email...

Loved our visit!

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff and the décor.
Location: Very close to the Vegas strip. Convenient to all locations.
The hotel was set off of the Vegas strip, but very convenient. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Being a bit older couple they gave us a room on the fourth floor away from the booming night club. We were able to hear the music in the wee hours of the morning, but nothing that disturbed our stay. They were up front when we arrived to let us know of the night life there. We would definitely stay there again. The artwork and antiques were "off the charts"! We enjoyed walking around and looking at it all! Very inviting, yet gothic atmosphere. We were joking about the hotel being an excellent choice for a horror flick! The view of the Vega strip from our room was wonderful! It was a bit tricky locating the hotel at first, but figured it out quickly! Very romantic, inviting atmosphere! Thank you Artisan staff!

Used to be nice. Now just trash.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
The hotel is an tiny boutique that I used to visit mainly for the lounge and patio downstairs which is just awesome. The rooms however are horrible. I arrived and the room smelled like sewage. Carpets were stained, lamps were dusty, toilet didn't flush, and all the staff at the desk and over the phone were rude and discourteous.

Great time

Posted Mar 12, 2015
We had a great stay. The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean, free wifi and valet. Didn't get a chance to check out the pool but will next time. The hotel has a creepy vibe with the dark lighting and red colors but it was awesome.

Clean, Old, Noisey!

Posted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: Its was relatively inexpensive.
Cons: Less noise or a taller building. The higher the floor the less the noise. The 5th floor was filled upon check-in(Highest Floor)
Location: The hotel is about a mile from Las Vegas Blvd. (The Strip). Not too much right around the hotel.
The hotel itself was fine. The room was clean but old. The real killer was the noise. The hotel is right next to the freeway and Sahara Blvd. A lot of traffic noise, which paled in comparison to the noise from the bar. If you want a good nights sleep this is not the place for you. If you want to party it may just be up your ally. The 100% Valet parking was a nice touch. The Valets were informative and helpful. The party starts at about 10PM and goes to about 8AM. You must sighn a "disclaimer" upon check-in. A huge clue.

Different - Nice, but dark.

Posted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, interesting to look at, very friendly staff, convenient location. Different ambiance than the standard motel or casino.
Cons: Better room lighting, and self-parking.
Location: Close to the strip. But the area west of the hotel is loaded with great ethnic restaurants, and Rani's World Foods Market is just a few blocks away.
It's a little hard to find, tucked off Highland even though it has a Sahara address. But once you find it, the location is convenient and quiet. It has valet parking only, which I dislike. But the staff was wonderful and friendly. They brought us extra blankets and pillows promptly and with a smile. The facilities themselves are pleasingly decorated, with art everywhere, but very dark so that the art isn't highlighted well. From the fountain in the lobby, the ceilings covered with art, to the Romanesque pool, everything was pleasant, but not well-lit. The room was similarly pleasant but dark. It was well-decorated, comfortable, and clean, yet lacked even a decent desk lamp. The bathroom was somewhat out of date and shabby, but everything worked. They also use a slightly better grade of TP than most hotels - soft, but still too fragile. It's billed as an "adult" hotel, but I'm not sure exactly what that means. We were there on a Monday night, and everything was quiet. It's just across the freeway from the Strip but that's not what we go to Vegas for. The neighborhood is loaded with ethnic restaurants, from Chinese and Indian on Sahara, to Vietnamese and Salvadorean on Arville, to Thai, Kosher, Korean, and many others on Flamingo a few blocks south, plus Rani's World Foods, Indian Market, Bangkok Market, and a Vietnamese market - if you came to eat, this is a great location!
