Cabana Suites are where it's at

Posted Jan 30, 2015
Cons: Better lighting in cabana suites
Location: Gold spike is a great bar
The El Cortez casino and older rooms are really nothing to write home about. But it's newer cabana suites are great. And they come with a fridge! Super great rates too and if you love Downtown, the location is perfect.

ビンテージroomに泊まりました。

Posted Jan 30, 2015

The room was very nice. Will definitely stay there next year, especially if I get the same rate.

Las Vegas Home Show

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Last room available for Home Show week.
Cons: Interior is clean but furnishings tired.
Location: One block to Fremont Street, and MOB Museum was great.
All Hotels on Strip booked for Home Show. Never stayed in Downtown and one room left at El Cortez where I had eaten a meal years before. Fremont Street is an interesting place, not as crowded as the Strip and that I liked very much. My room was on the 10th floor of the tower facing Fremont Street. Street noise from Fremont very load didn't stop till 3am on Friday. Recommend room on opposite side of Tower. Food was good, and staff friendly.

Convenient hotel close to Fremont Experience.

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Convenient hotel close to Fremont and bus to the strip. We stayed in the cabana suites which is across the street from the casino and main hotel. It was small and dated but clean and good for the price. Upon arriving to check in, the hotel had no record of our reservation, although I received an email from Expedia saying the reservation was confirmed. They called Expedia and straightened it out but we had to wait several minutes. I recommend calling ahead to confirm. Overall satisfied.

Good for the price.

Posted Jan 24, 2015
Pros: Price.
The hotel is located at the old part of Vegas which is north of the main strip but there is the freemont plaza which is unique to say the least. The guests were the 55+ crowd. The hotel has maturity but doable because of the price. Could not understand the check in lady since she rambled a lot but caught my attention when she mentioned charging extra on my card for hotel amenities which I never used. Other than that the staff was friendly. They do station security around the perimeter which says something about the location but it was clean outside and I did not see anything different than what you would see on the main strip. I would recommend walking to the Freemont Plaza which has several of the older casinos in a row.
