“ValNCal”
Dont expect to much, older hotel but if all you need is a place to lay you're head down after partying, more laid back then down on the strip. Bed was soft and passed out as soon as I got back to the room. Breakfast was good for free after coffee and tip it was only 3 bucks. I had a rental car , parking was very easy to go in and out because you dont have to pay for parking. The people around are a little older but fun to be around. Its like playing cards with Papa n Granma but with money in there eyes. Overall the stay was good, and I would come back.
“Needs remodeled”
Didn't get the room we requested upon check in. We did arrive early, but were told no rooms of our selection were available and we wouldn't be able to get one that day. First room we got was not in good condition. Shower faucet leaked, took FOREVER for the water to warm up, sink gurgled when another room used their sink. We did get a room like we had requested the next day and it wasn't a problem to switch at all. Room was maintained a little better. Sink still gurgled though. Think the rooms need to be remodeled. Elevators took forever on our first day there. Not sure if they were working on them or not. If there are four elevators, you would think you wouldn't have to wait 15 minutes for an elevator. We just took the stairs......even though we were on the 19th floor.
“NFR Trip”
Great Experience!
“we always stay at the fritz love downtown!!”
fremont street was a hoot!!! we had so much fun lots of stuff going on when nfr is there!
“Loads of Fun on Fremont St!”
I had read LOTS of reviews on this hotel before deciding to try it. It is an older establishment with older furnishings and an older feel, but the staff was really nice and we loved being on Fremont St. It was a 3 block long party at night. We found a bar called Triple 7 in the nieghborhood (Main St.) that had micro brewed beer and great food. Everything is more reasonable downtown too. The hotel room wasnt the cleanest I have ever been in but quite honestly, I have paid way more and had the same problem, it was livable. Everyone complained about the elevators... it's vacation people! Grow up and slow down some! They really werent bad, Friday was the worst and of course the weekend nights but really- they got you were you needed to be just fine. If you want the cheaper food and drinks- DEFINITELY Fremont St! Triple 7= micro brewed pint of delicious Black Chip beer 3.25 On the strip at an outside bar= CAN of Guiness 7-8 dollars. You only sleep in the hotel room anyway... take the Deuce bus to the strip for 7$ for 24 hr. pass, slow down and enjoy yourself.
“Will stay elsewhere”
the hotel was o.k. good location, the casino part of hotel did not have much in the way of change machines. we were forever looking for change. we were asked to pay a hundred dollar fee, upon checking in. not sure what this was for. on checkout we did get it back. we never had to do this on our other trips.
“Works for me.”
Stayed there several times before. Will stay there again. Stayed at many hotels in vegas. No place is perfect. Unless you are willing, or can afford to overpay. that overpayment is my playing money..LOL.. And how much time do you spend in room anyway.
“will sOnly thing that would make it better, would be new carpettay again & again”
Needs new carpet & bathrooms remodled.
“Needs an Overhaul!”
This motel was once very nice. It now needs a very thourough overhaul. Hopefully the new owners will put some money into it and give it back it's luster. If you like all night noise and constant partying this is the place for you. Fremont Street goes full blast from 6 until 2 a.m. so there are not many hours for sleep. Hope to see some much needed improvements made to this place in the near future.
“Older, Cheap Hotel, but FUN Enviornment”
Pros: Right at the start of the Fremont Street Experience. Slots seem to pay out more then on the Strip. Resonable price, rooms are older but clean. Good easy fun enviornment. Cons: Self parking is difficult, tight quarters and turns. Self Parking starts on the 6th level. If you get back late, your best bet is to use the Valet. FYI - Valet is free if you join the players club (you still need to tip). We had two double beds and they were uncomfortable. Old and you literally could feel every spring. This is my only true complaint. I've stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and this was the first time I encountered a really bad bed. Maybe it was just the room I had... Overall I'd give it a 3, and yes I will stay there again. I like the enviornment and I think the bed problem was just this room. If it happens again, I'll ask for a different room. As long as the rooms clean (it was) and I can get a few hours of sleep, I'm happy. If your on a budget and would rather spend the money on shopping or gambling, then stay at The Fitz!
