What has happened to this grand old lady

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Unfortunately at this point not much, habitat was nice.
Cons: See comments above, you could make things much more pleasant if you had some employees that were there just to help customers navigate the mess
Location: Since Flamingo rd and the strip were torn up it wasn't pleasant to try and get around.
We have not stayed at the Flamingo in years, so we decided to give it a try. Well the entire complex is in the middle of a construction zone. Getting in and out of the hotel was a nightmare. I have a special place in my heart for the Flamingo, but the old lady needs an entire makeover. The habitat garden was very nice. We ate in the Mexican restaurant and the service was terrible, very slow, the waiter never checked on us, we waited for 45 minutes, never got our guacamole order,( waited 10 minutes to get it taken off the bill) the waiter didn't even realize we had never gotten it. I had to get up to get us an extra plate, loud music was coming from two directions, not a place for a nice quiet dinner. Casino was very badly laid out and the smoke smell was terrible.

Gave our rooms away. Not worth the sweet pool.

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: The pool was really nice.
Cons: EVERYTHING except the pool
Location: It's centrally located on the strip so most of the things were in walking distance.
There was a group of four of us with two rooms and we were really excited to stay at the Flamingo because the pool is really awesome. It's probably the only good part of the Hotel but anyone can go so it still doesn't make the Flamingo worth a stay. We arrived at around 9:30 to check into our rooms only to find out that they had given both away. They said that all they had left was 2 junior suite that were not part of the latest renovations. We thought that it couldn't be that bad and took those rooms... they were pretty bad. I've stayed at Motels that had nicer rooms. And these were supposed to be suites! In one room the bathroom was dirty and the other room had the word "HELP" carved into the door. We immediately called down to reception to try and change rooms. All they had were two renovated smoking rooms (none of us smoke). Every night we woke up with coughs and sore throats. The renovations aren't even that nice. If you don't care what so ever about the hotel you stay in and are just looking for a cheap place to stay on the strip, than this is the place for you!!! But you really should just spend an extra $100 or more for a better, modern, undated, and respectful hotel. I definitely will never be staying here again. Do yourself a favor and don't either.

Las Vegas at Flamingo

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Location on the strip and we are not big gamblers and I think the older casinos have a better pay back.
Cons: Just feel that every penny is now a concern to them so customer service is less.
Location: Loved the shows, loved Varkana at Aria
We where placed in a smoking room to start with and moved the next day.

Good location.

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Location was convenient. Pool area was nice & lots of room if you get there early enough.
Cons: Renovate all the rooms.
Location: Central on strip. Lot's of really nice hotels around to walk through.
Our "two Queen Beds, non-smoking room guaranteed for late check-in" did not happen. We got one king bed with only a few lamps in the room and HELP scratched into the bathroom wall. When we complained about not getting the room we had reserved & paid for they said our only other option was two queen beds on the smoking floor. We took it but still not impressed. You should get exactly what you pay for IMO.

FLAMINGO LAS VEGAS - GUESTS BUSINESS CENTER

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: IT IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STRIP
Cons: CLEANER BATHROOMS, BETTER GUEST BUSINESS CENTER, HALLWAY CARPET WAS LIFTING CREATING TRIP HAZARDS
Location: TONS TO DO, ANYWHERE ON THE STRIP!!!!!!
The overall stay was OK. We didn't send much time in our room anyway, as most people that have been to Vegas can relate too. The things that really put me off when staying at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas where the following issue: # 1) The bath tub had some mold in the grout of the tiling and on the shower curtain also had mold on it, not just alittle, but moderate, gross. #2) Being a businessmen and using their business center was a big mis-stake. It was the worse business center I have used at any hotel or motel to be fare. Nothing a person could need was there, no paper, pens, no stapler and no paper clips, just 2 computers and a desk. This is not the issue that I had with the business center, the issue was they charged me $32.50 to use the internet in the guest business center for 40 minutes of internet and then they deducted 2.05 minutes off the time limit for each and every email i needed to print. THIS FAMOUS LAS VEGAS HOTEL IS COOL TO STAY AT BUT IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS WHEN YOU ARE THERE, THEN THIS HOTEL WOULD BE MY LAST CHOICE FOR ANYONE THAT HAS TO WORK WHEN AT PLAY. EVEN MOTEL 6 OFFERS A BETTER BUSINESS CENTER FOR THEIR GUESTS
