Really Good Price-Value Hotel. The shuttle transport was a great for going to the strip. Definitely would reserve for a next time.

Decent off-strip hotelPosted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, quiet and nice staff at TGI's. Bank machines that charge a $3 fee versus $6 or more at other casinos.
Cons: Add a poker room. Faster with offering drinks and accept drink cards over 48 hours instead of same day. Comes off as being cheap.
Location: The shuttle to the strip is fine but it stops at 12:30. Paying for cabs winds up running up your expense so it may be better to pay for strip hotel.
The rooms are good, clean and spacious but the casino is older and a little smokey. Slots lack variety. The Orleans owned by the same group is a lot better and I would stay there. There is no poker room at Gold Coast and the main reason I stayed was because there was a convention at the Rio next door. If it were not for the convention I would have stayed on the strip.

not so comfortablePosted Aug 8, 2014
The room is dark even after we turned on all the lights. And the beds are not that comfortable as well.

Quick night to AirportPosted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Nice rooms and good food.
Cons: The beds are very hard. New plush mattresses are needed.
Location: It is close to the strip and the airport as well as the Palms.
A quick stay before taking an early flight to Minnesota. Room was very nice although the bed was pretty hard and not comfortable. Casino is OK but adding a resort fee is not cool especially when you are not using the pool etc and not at the property a full day. Other than that it is a good place to put your head on a pillow for a few hours. The food at the oriental noodle restaurant is excellent. Lot of gambling space and options. Overall not a bad place and in a good location.

They have checkout via by you television. Just amazing! Also, friendly staff and good security. Pillows were uncomfortable which made it difficult to fall asleep.

Do not stay here.Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: They have a great buffet for a very reasonable price.
Cons: A staff that cares would be great. Enough linens for the amount of people staying in the room.
Location: Close to the Rio.
They do not put more than 2 people worth of linens in the room. You are required to ask every day for linens if you have more than 2 people in your room. The bathroom sink did not drain well. The staff does not care. This hotel is not at all kid friendly. They do have a great buffet for a very reasonable price.

Room Smell was unbearable.Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Could not stay long enough to make an assessment, but the pricing was great although I think it was canceled out with the bad room
Cons: Blow out the rooms with a high powered fan and possibly replace the rug. it would also help if the windows could open up to remove the stale nasty air
Location: Location was good for Las Vegas, but to far to walk anywhere.
It was absolutely the worst smell in a room that I've ever had to deal with. The windows did not open and I spent a long time fanning the room with the door trying to air it out. It smelled like cleaning chemicals and a hint of tobacco which was really bad since we requested a non smoking room. The smell was making us sick so we got up at 3:30 AM and left.

Excellent ValuePosted Aug 4, 2014
Location: Right across the street from Rio and Palms hotels so very convenient place to stay for events at those hotels.
For a budget hotel, The Gold Coast really exceeded my expectations and offers lots of little extra accommodations that really make a difference. My room had a coffee maker, coffee plus creamer/sugar/stirrer packs, and very high end toiletries. The room was newly remodeled, very modern and stylish. Also loved that the parking is so convenient to the hotel rooms. My TV stopped working the second evening of my stay. Called the front desk and two maintenance guys were there within 5 minutes despite the late hour of the call (around 11 pm). They got the TV working again in a few minutes, were courteous and polite - the same can be said for all the employees I interacted with during my stay. Overall was incredibly pleased with my stay.

Great location, close to the strip!Posted Jul 29, 2014
The hotel is in a great location and close to the strip without the busy traffic. Very friendly hotel staff with little waiting at check-in. The room is large, clean and very comfortable.
