Old hotel in a little disrepair, but excellent staff. Priced right for business travel.

Small rooms

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Rooms are very small. We were in the "unimproved section" of this hotel. Although it had old world charm, we felt as if it were a low class hotel. When locals asked what hotel we were staying at the responce was the same negative reaction.

We got a smaller room then last time but we had a view on Fremont and loved it. Always a good experience. Front desk guy took good care of us.

If you are ok staying on Fremont St.

Posted Sep 24, 2014
If u like Fremont St. Ok. Dingy hotel, no hair dryer in room, no coffee maker in room... VERY SMALL ROOMS. Bed felt like a pull out couch. Awful. Reserved 2 nights left after 1st.

We had a lovely stay at the golden gate hotel and Casino. It was right on the downtown strip. A lot of fun stuff to do astound there. The hotel staff was very helpful.

Worst stay ever

Posted Sep 21, 2014
My husband & I were traveling with a baby & the room made it impossible. No bath tub. To small to accommodate a play pen & walking. I've never stayed in such a small uninviting room

This hotel should be condemned.

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Place should be condemned by the Board of Health.
Location: it is on the Fremont strip and close to many casinos.
The noise level from Fremont strip is too loud and you cannot rest. My view was of the roof and all their discarded furniture, etc. Carpet smelled and was dirty. Bathroom had a toilet behind door, a closet stall for a shower which was dirty and filled with mold and mildew. No bathtub. They also charged $22.60 for resort fee which is for Wi Fi access, however, there is no desk. Furniture was outdated. There was no shuttle or taxi access to front of hotel due to construction, so you had to walk from Golden Nugget next door and be picked up there. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere which is clean and comfortable.

Our anniversary and Birthday stay

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Everything was so charming even the gaming floor and staff.
Cons: more outlets and the 3rd floor with airfresheners that smell better
Location: In the middle of it all on Freemont for fun, dinner and dancing.
We were greeted with friendly valet that did not charge us for it. Which is a fantastic thing due to I hate lugging around luggage through parking garages. Then when checking in it was made as easy as possible. The hall ways to the room did smell musty but that is a given with a very old hotel. The charm of the hotel is fantastic and the room was cozy with a modern flair. it did need an extension cord to provide more plugs for cell phone chargers. Over all we loved our stay and the hotel. We will stay again!

Awful

The only truly good thing about this hotel is that it is on Fremont street for that experience of Vegas.
