Small room

Very small room but all I needed was a place to sleep. It was clean but the bed too soft for me.

There are many reasons why this hotel is cheapest

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: Restaurant
Cons: Get a quiet room. Bathrooms are tired
Location: Next to Freemont Street Experience. Designer outlet mall is nearby
I booked because the Guardian suggested this was a antidote to the glitz of the strip. It turns out to be down town, some miles from the strip. It's next to the Freemont Street experience which is very noisy until the early hours. The rooms are very old fashioned and in need of some modernisation. I liked the restaurant which is old fashioned like the hotel.

Nice stay

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Price and Location.
Cons: I didn't have any problems really.
Location: Great location, plenty of bars, restaurants, casinos, and live entertainment right outside the door.
The main advantage to this hotel is the location. If you want to be at the Freemont Experience at a reasonable price, this could be the hotel for you. Rooms seem to have been upgraded with new furniture, tv, and bedding.

Great hotel!

Posted Oct 19, 2014
the only problem with this hotel was the small bathroom when we opened the door it ran into the toilet. And the view of the air conditioner. Overall it was great a nice updated room. Comfy bed and great place to rest your head after playing all day.

We could hear all the sound from the dome...could deal with that. Dumpsters for casino's were outside our window! Rude awakening early in the morning! Between the loud noise of dumping dumpsters and everyone talking below window...it was awful! All we could hear was the beeping of vehicles and trash being dumped during day. AWFUL I told desk in the morning...nothing done. In the evening I mentioned again..young man did give us another room across hall. The first room should NEVER be used.

Low Cost Room. What I expected for the price

Posted Oct 10, 2014
Small room. Old building - 108 years old. Easy to get lost in hallways. Follow room signs. Cafe was closed the only time I wanted to eat there. I was not looking for a resort hotel on this trip. Only someplace to keep my close and take a shower. Golden Gate fit the bill just right.

Not comfortable for me.

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Low pressure showers, and had a difficult time controlling temperature. Unfortunately before the golden gate I stayed at the downtown grand first that felt like a HOTEL. Golden Gate felt more like a worn down motel.

Hotel Stay at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino

Posted Oct 3, 2014
Pros: Price and friendly staff
Cons: Needs updating
Location: Located right on Fremont Street
I was given a room on the Fremont street side and the noise was terrible could not even hear my tv without turning it up full. The room itself was outdated but clean and the bed was comfortable. If you want a somewhat quiet night don't let them give you a room on the Fremont Street side.
