Very nice hotel downtown Las VegasPosted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: Amenities for the price
Cons: nothing without raising prices
Location: Downtown area. Golden nugget is right on Fremont Street which is a very entertaining night spot. Mob museum within a few blocks.
Had a great time visiting Las Vegas and surrounding area. The Golden Nugget was a very comfortable hotel after a day of activities.

Awesome hotel with a shark tankPosted Apr 19, 2015
Excellent hotel on Fremont Street. The hotel is well maintained and have an awesome pool with a shark tank. The daily poker tournament and people are enjoyable. I would definitely stay at the Golden Nugget Hotel again.

It was my first time in down town Las Vegas, and I have to say that it was an eye opener. This hotel and its location is everything you need to have a great time.

Ask for a room away from the Fremont Experience!Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: The location and the staff and the ambiance.
Cons: Higher watt energy efficient bulbs, At least 2 small bars of soap, with one being a facial bar in every bathroom with two or more guests.
Location: Everything adults want is downtown: the gentlest dealers, the most generous slots, friendly staff, great food, good entertainment.
As a frequent visitor to Vegas, I had gambled at the Golden Nugget many times, but never stayed before. My friend and I enjoyed our stay very much with the exception of our actual room. The staff was exceedingly gracious: A delightful but logistical nightmare of a trip to the Grand Canyon delayed our return to the hotel by 4-1/2 hours. The hotel allowed us to keep our room till we left at 9 that night at NO charge. (They do have a good relationship with Papillon Air.) However, our newly renovated room in the Gold Tower was on the 16th floor right over the Fremont Experience. The hourly bass boom from the event, and the noise from the street continued till 1 every night. It isn't a problem if one goes to bed after that.... But then, the room had 25 Watt energy efficient bulbs, with which to read in bed. I had to take apart the headboard fixture to unscrew and transfer a bulb from a corner lamp (60 Watt) for my side to read. (I put it all back together before leaving.) Also, the room supplied one bar of soap for two sinks and a tub. We raided a cart for a second bar of soap, but in a room with two guests, we would have been happy with 3 small slivers of soap. But, the location is perfect, the gambling 'friendly'. I LOVE downtown and haven't stayed on the strip for years. I'll be back to the Nugget, but I'll stay in Carson Tower next time.

Great Hotel \Casino if you like to be downtownPosted Apr 18, 2015
Cons: CHECK IN
Location: FREEMONT STREET HAS A LOT OF GREAT THINGS TO SEE AND DO.
Hotel and Casino were nicely upgraded, Pool area was very nice with the Shark Tank in the middle. Check -in was slow as only one person working in the general registration area. No excuse for 30+ minute check-in. Friendly staff. Cocktail ladies were always around. Evening show was average, good value with Buffet thrown in. Would stay again if I was downtown.

Spring Break at the Nugget!Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: Pool; restaurants; casino
Cons: more efficient check in process. I watched as many people stood in LONG lines to check in.
Location: Centrally located to the downtown portion of Las Vegas with shows, casinos, shopping, restaurants and various opportunities to meet street performers.
I know "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" but my experience at the Golden Nugget was truly a great one! The variety of things to do and see is absolutely fantastic. For my kids the answer was the pool area and water slide. They spent quite a bit of time in the water during our stay. In addition there were plenty of opportunities for us to spend time as a family (AKA: Freemont Street Experience --> shopping, food, zip line, etc. ) I also had some time to take in a few casinos and it was a lot off fun!

Understand the resort feePosted Apr 17, 2015
The hotel charges $22 a day for access to the fitness centre, bottled water, printing boarding passes and finer details we likely didn't discover. Front desk staff is vert busy, use the business centre near Carson Tower to check out and store your bags (if need be).
