Nice alternative

If you're interested in staying downtown, I highly recommend the Golden Nugget. Very clean, classy, great pool and nice staff.

Convenient location to the buses that go down the strip. Older school hotel but nicely done. Up graded to the rush tower. Overall value good.

Stay in Carson Tower.

Casino under renovation. Carson Tower not renovated yet. Room 20124- carpet, tub, plumbing were very dated. No room mini fridge. Otherwise, very nice stay.

Rooms are updated, clean, just a mildew problem in the tub/shower. Changed the room, received a credit, but the 2nd room had the same problem, just not as bad.

Nickel and dime you

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Nice place for downtown but they nickel and dime you. $4 to drink bottled water in the room, $10 TO USE THE COFFEE MAKER IN THE ROOM, $14.99 a day for Internet access! The most inexpensive of hotels will provide a free coffee maker and wifi! Hot tub closed. Many (not all) dealers appear unhappy. You would think with all the competition in Vegas- they would think twice before nickel and diming! Won't be staying there again- and I used to be a very loyal customer. We traveled with another couple and stayed there on our recommendation... Never again.

overnight stay

Posted Jan 22, 2015
Pros: The Grotto.
Cons: A Smile goes a long way!!! Smile people.
felt like we were bothering the front desk clerk at check in. We were told we received a room upgrade complete with a view of the garage and noise from garbage trucks. Although we found Corona bottle caps on window ledge, the room seemed clean and comfortable. The Grotto restaurant was wonderful!! The best part of our stay for sure. Hats off to the bartenders cause they were slammed and performed flawlessly. The fremont street experience is for adults. I don't recommend parents take their kids. It was entertaining but not comfortable. Overall, I would stay again and hope the few grey areas won't pop up next time.
