Disappointing Hotel Staff At Front Desk.

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: The spa, location, the buffet.
Cons: Better service at the front desk to make your guest happy and satisfied.
We have stay at the GVR many times in the past and absolutely loved it. The whole experience, the spa, the rooms, the District, are always things we enjoy and look forward to. We were disappointed in the past that the morning coffee was discontinued a while back but we thought the other positive attributes made up for it. We arrived at the Hotel and the Valet attendants were as gracious as always. When we presented to the desk, the first clerk we had was rather cool and checked us in. When we got up to our room, we looked out the window right into the top of the roof! What a disappointment so we decided to ask for another room, maybe pool side. When we returned to the front desk, we told the clerk, different one this time, about the disappointing view from our room and wanted to change rooms. We asked if we could get a room that overlooked the pool. We were told that it would be another $20.00 a night! Since when did a pool view become extra? We said no and were told they had a room two floors above our original room, still overlooking the roof but above. We settled for that. Considering the weekday price of the room, higher than expected, and the $25.00 resort fee, highway robbery, paying another $20.00 a night to overlook the pool was insulting.

Location: Casino on site. Close to Restaurants & Shopping,

Monte Carlo in Las Vegas

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Old world charm done in the American way
Stupendous facility away from the Strip. Old world elegance in a European style facility. Beautiful pool area and very nice rooms. We were impressed. The buffet was excellent and although we weren't there long enough to try the other restaurants, they looked good.

Felt we had the place to ourselves.

Cons: We got to pay $25 a day for a resort fee, but we're still asked to pay for internet service.
Highly recommend for couples looking for a getaway. The resort has a great Tuscan feel and is very spread out. Alone time can be establish almost everywhere on the property. Cafe has excellent feel good food at a great value pricing. Better quality and attention to detail than the buffet. The Buffet caters to the local senior market so avoid the Buffet line between Noon and 1:30 unless you are OK with a 40 min wait for a table. Overall we had an amazing weekend and we will be back.

Expensive and nickel and dimes you.

Pros: The pool and rooms are lovely.
Cons: They should improve the quality of experience, such as keep the pool open later.
Location: There are some nice restaurants and a Whole Foods within walking distance and there's a movie theater on site, but it only plays 1/2 of what you might
The hotel is nice, but they don't provide free wifi! Free wifi is everywhere; if I pay top dollar for a hotel, I expect wifi to be included. They also charge a $28 PER NIGHT "resort fee" while they close the pool at 6pm (when it was still light and almost 100 degrees outside). I don't gamble, and chose this hotel for its beautiful pool and hardly had the opportunity to use it.
