Nice and relaxing.

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Had a shuttle for the strip.
It was a very nice surprize that they had live music on the lake barge on Sat night. A good band from Nashville. It was away from the Vegas strip and had a calmer and more relaxing feel for a family. No big crowds.

An Unlikely Oasis in the Desert

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: - Staff was professional and provided excellent service - Rooms were luxurious - Pool/hotel grounds were beautiful and well kept.
Cons: - The Casino is closed down - Local restaurants and amenities are fairly expensive - There were only two shops open in the village
Location: There is little to do inside the resort grounds besides relax, however the strip is only a 30 minute drive away.
My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and simply loved the hotel. It has a beautiful Italian feel to the architecture and is amazingly luxurious. The hotel staff was polite and professional, in fact, they upgraded our room and gave us a free bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for our special occasion. The pool area was very open and excellent for relaxing. The major downfall to this hotel was the lack of amenities. The casino is closed down so there is no gambling, no "Vegas" feel, and little to no nightlife. The restaurants were nice, however almost all of them were fairly expensive and offer little selection in type of cuisine (half of the restaurants are Italian). Lastly, there was little shopping available in the village, as most of the stores were closed or out of business. In order to combat the amenities problem, the hotel offered a free shuttle to the Las Vegas strip. That all being said, the hotel was a nice way to escape reality and relax. I would certainly recommend it to friends and family.

secluded paradise

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: The quietness and ambiance of the surrounding local shops and places to eat made this a great choice for someone not wanting to stay in Las Vegas
Cons: Not sure if we were in an off season, but it seemed many of the local businesses were either closed or out of business, and the "Casino" is no longer
other than the fact that Expedia screwed up our reservations, and our check in took almost 20 minutes, the hotel was great and the staff very nice.

Vacation

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: Leaving it.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Downtown Vegas and the Hoover Dam are nearby.
We opted to stay at this hotel because it was close enough to downtown Vegas (The Strip) without being right in then middle of it. The exterior and interior of the hotel was gorgeous...the location was a convenient distance from Vegas and Hoover Dam. Unfortunately, those are the only nice things we have to stay about our stay. We had one disappointment after another once we checked in. To start with, we requested a room near the pool. We were told the hotel was completely full and no vacancy's were available aside from the room assigned to us...a 25 min. walk to the pool! Secondly, the person who checked us into the hotel told us the pool would be open until 8 pm that evening and the next (Fri. & Sat). We arrived at the pool at 6:30 p.m. Within 10 minutes, the life guard informed us the pool was closing because there weren't enough people in it! What? Next we went to the entertainment/dining/shopping district located on-site. There were only 2 store fronts in operation and they were both closed. All of the other spaces shut and had 'available' signs dangling from there windows. The on-site casino was no longer in operation...it had shut it's doors several months prior. Our room was unbearably hot and didn't ever cool down, we were 'locked out' of our room on our 2nd nights stay and our room was not cleaned nor were towels provided on the 2nd day of our stay. Hideous! Our advice...stay away...unless disappointment is what you are seeking.

nice hotel, good accomodations,

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: clean, well kept, accomodating staff
Cons: The village needs to recover with tenants which will bring more guest and reopen the casino as well
Location: concerts on the lake, a few restaurants in the village. boat and paddle board rental
The hotel staff, especially lauren at the front desk were very helpful and accomodating. Since the Lake Las Vegas Village is hurting with so many vacant store fronts the area does not have as much to offer as it used to but the actual hotel is very nice

Almost Fantastic

Posted Jul 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
This place is amazing. Its beautiful. Check in staff was very nice but there werent enough of them so one issue and the wait becomes long. The room was large and clean except for the brown stains in the carpet which were uncharacteristic of such a grand hotel. There seemed to be a problem with the air conditioning and as it was 105 outside it was hot on half of our floor and cool on the other. Our room never cooled past 75 with the air on full, and we were having trouble sleeping so we called the desk and requested for someone to look at it or bring us a fan. The agent said she was sending someone right up. An hour later mo one had showed up or called back so we gave up and went to sleep, as it was 11:00 pm. Aside from all that there is no place like this and I would stay there again but would ask for a room on the cool side on a different floor.
