Posted Mar 1, 2015

The room was decent at best

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the view was very nice.
Cons: Make sure that the cleaning crew reports things that are wrong with the room when they go through to clean the room.
Location: It is on the strip so it is tons of things to do. Just stay clear of all of the individuals trying to sell you things. It's still great fun.
The room was hot when we arrived and the AC was broken and had to be fixed. The bathroom door was sticking constantly making it hard to open and close. No fridge at all I thought was a bit much and made it just a step above Super 8. I understand a King Deluxe room is not a suite but a hotel that is at the Luxor's caliber should have a little bigger rooms for a King Deluxe and a fridge. I don't ask for much but the Luxor should provide a little more.

No pool

Posted Mar 1, 2015
When we checked in they told us they didn't have the room we had reserved and paid for already. Not sure what the point of a reservation is if they don't reserve the room. Also the pool was closed, but they made no mention of that before we got there. Would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Run Down

Posted Mar 1, 2015
The staff is nice. The hotel and rooms are not only out dated but poorly kept. The bathroom had a hole in the wall by the floor and the ceiling have mold growing on. The wall had ink splatter stains. The dress was worn and chipped and the head board also had big worn spots. The staff also entered the room even though we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door... But they have great shows and fun exhibits. We saw the Jabbawacez, Criss Angel, The Bodies exhibit and Titanic exhibit. All were amazing and affordable.

Old run down rooms, stunk, dirty.

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The guest rooms need to be cleaned and also the hallways
Location: Was in a good location
Expected a lot out of this hotel but rooms were old, dirty, and the bath towels stunk bad. The hallways were dirty and ceilings were heavily soiled. The elevators were dirty and extremely rough riding. The casino floor was clean and well maintained, wish they could spend more time on the rooms. The show had no shelves to set your shampoo on and no bench.

Sleeping in a Pyramid

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: - Reasonable rate for the hotel rooms. - Room was large and clean. - Easy to get from one hotel to another. - Unique hotel architecture.
Cons: - Lingering smoke smell - Mattresses (not enough support) - Long walk from elevator to our room - Need fridge in room - Shorter walk from elevator
Location: Located at one end of the Strip. Nothing against the Luxor but next time we will stay downtown for a different environment.
This hotel felt quite luxurious and grand. We were immediately greeted by people trying to sell us discounted show tickets, and they were extremely persistent in all the adjacent hotels we visited. We stayed in the pyramid itself and it was a mile trek to our hotel room. We had to take a rickety elevator (we figured that the elevators are going up a slant) and we had to walk down corridors overlooking the long way down to the main floor (I don't like heights so I was hugging the inner walls). The room was large and clean. I really liked all the extra places to put all our luggage and trinkets. The bathroom was modern with only a shower but it was large with clear glass windows. The low room rate compensated for the dubious daily "resort fees" (their pool was not even functional when we went).

Nice hotel clost the strip

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Good hotel, close to the strip. I checked in late and wasn't able to get any high floor room in the pyramid. However the reception staff offered me another room in the tower which worked for me at the end.
