Hotel first time experience?

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: What I liked was that this Hotel it was far enough out of the way of all the traffic but it was close to everything.
Cons: Well that would be to up keep on there rooms make sure there are no problems before guests arrive that would be my suggestion to the Mardi Gras
Location: Everything the strip and many other places to get to is under 10 miles and no problems getting around in a vehicle it was the best part.
The room was ok not bad for the price we paid for the Hotel outside area was well taken care the staff took very good care of our room and the pool was very cold but the hot tube Jacuzzi was very nice.We did experience a water leak problem in the bathroom that they couldn't fix on the spot but the next day I went and requested another room with no problems.

This is a true story

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Nada
Cons: Try shutting it down
Location: The strip
This is a true story. What we liked about the Mardi Gras Hotel & Casino—nothing. Fast forward. 1) the girl at the front counter was rude, and appeared to be annoyed by us; 2) the carpet had not been vacuumed; 3) the curtains (plastic) had holes in them; 4) you had to slam the door to close it; 5) the toilet sat almost on the ground; 6) the fan in the bathroom sounded like it was busted; 7) the bathtub plug wouldn't close--we used a rag to stop up the tub; 8) internet never worked (it cost us $5). Fast forward. We left at 7pm and returned at about 12am. We ended up conking out til the next morning. Ready for the punchline? After we woke up, lounged around and got ready, my hubby said "Look! A roach!" OMG--it wasn't like I haven't seen a roach before, but tell me, who in their right mind spends $90 on a hotel room for one night, to find out it's a roach hotel! We videotaped the roach on the wall and took photos. The roaches acted like they were maddogging us. It was a stand off! We packed so quick to get out of there. We refused to stay till check out time at 11am. We asked for the manager Susan. Susan kept saying "I understand." Ultimately, we told her about the roaches, and after she got tired of listening to us, she said "I hope you had a nice stay," obviously scripted. We asked for our money back. My hubby blurted out "Let's check out some breakfast and coffee." I said, are you kidding. We had to go through Expedia for a credit.

Room abaiable did not match with what I has booked

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Had booked two queen beds but by the time we were checking in, they refused to give two beds instead only I bed rooms were abaiable. We ended up have to get another room in full price. The lady receptionist is really rude and unfriendly. It was a bad experience for us to book through Expedia from which hotels recommended.

The price is pretty great for what you get. The shuttle drivers, Joe and Sal are always prompt and friendly. The complimentary airport/the Strip shuttle is a big plus. The room is specious and has a fridge but no microwave. The remote in my room isn't working and the signal isn't very good.

Never Stay Here...!

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Total remodel of the building!
Location: Bad location Period!
Staff is excellent, It's to bad that they have to work here as they deserve something so much better. The Maids get it as clean as they can, But it's hard to do when they only have dirty stained carpet , Bedding that should have been thrown out years ago, etc, etc.

Pretty basic but good at the price!

We stayed here one night as a stop over and found it pretty nice. Tim on the bar is awesome! The food was nice and inexpensive. The rooms were clean and large! The hotel is a little run down inside. Couldn't comment on the distance to the strip as we didn't go but it was only $14 from the airport.

Reasonable price for the weekend

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Checking in process went smoothly. There was a towel in our room that was still dirty. The volume on the television didn't work. The curtain didn't close all the way. When booking online, it said rooms facing pool would be king size BUT the bed was a full size (sucked).
