Nice hotel but bad check in staff

Posted Sep 29, 2014
The hotel is nice. However, the service was not so good. The check in staff which was the manager had an attitude. I had to also call house keeping late in the afternoon because they had not made the bed nor had brought fresh towels to the room.

Will be back!

I was very pleased with my experience at New York-New York, Las Vegas. They upgraded our room, free of charge, without a request. The hotel was clean and filled with numerous things to do and places to eat. All of which were delicious! My husband and I walked down the strip and checked out many of the other resorts and decided that we liked ours, and the MGM the best. The only downfall to the hotel was the overwhelming apple smell wafting through the main area. It was excessive and gave me a serious case of the sneezes the entire time I was there. Besides that though, we were very satisfied!

Disgrace to the city

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Empire tower was tired and beat up. Saggy bed linen, hairs in the toilet, stinky wash basin. Casino floor toilets were appalling. Yuck hotel - so many options in Vegas. Knock this place down and build a new New York New York.

Best place on the Strip

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Free parking, free internet, great rooms, big casino, nice pool and lots of restaurants.
Cons: The added $15. per day Resort Fee should be dropped. Just add it to the room rate up front.
Location: Location is great. You can catch the mono-rail across the street for the "strip" (at MGM Grand) Everything is close by, including an In & Out Burger
We stayed for 2-nights and had a great time. The location of this hotel is the best....

Pros: The location to the strip and the hotel staff.
Cons: The room was in need of repair
Location: The roller coaster at NYNY was great. The MGM across the street has many attractions also
When we checked in, there were no smoking rooms available although that is what I requested. We were placed in a handicapped accessible room so that we were able to smoke. That was not a big ordeal. The wallpaper in our bathroom was peeling, the entertainment center had a chunk of wood missing from the top of it. The air conditioner only kept one side of the room cool and stopped working. Our bath tub was stopped every day we were there. I was embarrassed of our room.

Standard 3 star services

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Cons: Explanation of hotel amenities on the sites would be preferred
The hotel rooms, desides the suites do not have any refrigerator or general morning coffee or tea services. The towles were extremely hard and small. Staff were lovely and very helpful.
