Nice, quiet hotel near strip

Posted Aug 1, 2015
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is perfect. The rooftop pool was nice and not a scene from spring break like most other hotels in Vegas.

quiet area, nicely appointed & large suite

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: The size of the suite, beautiful bathroom, well appointed kitchen.
Cons: This is a "green" hotel and thermostat could not be adjusted.
Location: Two blocks from LV Blvd. - easy, safe walk to major casinos, shopping, restaurants.
Loved that there was no casino and the price was reasonable. Restaurant menu was not extensive but food was good and moderately priced. Valet garage parking assured vehicle wasn't an oven!

Ein Bett für 4 Personen

Posted Jul 31, 2015

Disappointed

Posted Jul 29, 2015
View over gas station is considered the same as strip view. Across from electric power plant. Approximately 1 mile from strip. Stains on couch and curtains were soiled with possibly soda?? Broken glass at the bottom of dishwasher. Coffee in coffee pot from previous guest. Cigarette butt on balcony floor. Jacuzzi jets were nasty from lack of cleaning. Tub itself was dirty stained and old. Luke warm was the best we could get in our shower until the next day. The staff was very pleasant minus one. On our check In the clerk was very condescending. Aside from that, my husband and I had a great time.

Casino free hotel close to strip, large suites.

Posted Jul 29, 2015
It's been 7 years since my family last visited Platinum Hotel. It looks exactly the same, which is great in some ways but not in others. Both visits were 3 weeks in a Solitaire Suite. The suites are large with fully fitted kitchen, living area, separate bedroom, balcony and spacious bathroom. The decor was exactly the same but after 7 years needed a facelift. Location, facilities and suites suited our family perfectly. Housekeeping were pleasant and responded to notes left in English and Spanish along with their daily tip. However as a hotel, I shouldnt have to repeatedly ask for clean towels or for bedding to be changed. This occurred throughout our 3 week stay, I didn't expect daily changes but I had to leave a note every 3days requesting clean towels and bedding. Signs in the lobby indicated hallways were to be recarpeted and painted. This appeared overdue, stained carpets and walls detract from the great things this hotel has to offer. The pool was quiet, had plenty of sun loungers and friendly staff. Lovely to use day and night. However the pool was dirty, hair clogged filters and floating debris the whole stay. People from other hotels also came to use our pool. Daily resort fees imply proper pool maintenance and the pool area for the paying residents only. Valet staff were excellent and courteous. The Platinum could be the hidden gem on the strip. It must improve its quality and service for customers to return repeatedly and to recommend it without hesitation.

1,2 km zum Strip,

Posted Jul 26, 2015

A Great Deal on an Excellent Hotel

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Beyond the fact that the rooms are wonderfully spacious, and the furniture, ect., isn't a thousand years old, I chose a 3-night flight and hotel Expedia deal for the Platinum because of their BATHTUBS. They are these huge jet tubs that will easily fit two. Other nearby large hotels we considered, comparably priced, offered only showers. The bathroom in my room (950 sq. ft.) also included a spacious shower, and vanity area with a double sink. Everything was and stayed pristine, thanks to the cleaning staff. The desk staff was unfailingly attentive and informative. I had a room with a single King-sized, pillow-top bed that was extremely comfortable; no lumps, or bumps; it seems this hotel keeps their furniture up to date. The suite also included a full kitchen: stove, refrigerator, microwave, oven, even a diswasher, so if your stay is goung to be an extended one, you can set up your own larder. There were flat screen TVs in both the livingroom area and bedroom. Though not officially "on the strip", the Platinum is within easy to moderately easy walking distance of the major casinos: about .6 miles from Caesar's, about .8 miles from the Bellagio, with the Flamingo, Ballys and othe large hotel/casinos inbetween. It's been years since I visited Vegas, so I had no real idea of what to expect with my accommodations. The Platinum Hotel not only quashed any fears, but exceeded all positive hopes. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel for your Vegas stay.

Nice hotel if looking for a break from The Strip

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Hotel amenities are great. The room was very spacious. The kitchen was awesome to have as it was a great way to save money by being able to cook meals instead. The bathroom with separate shower and tub was such a nice treat. The bed was so comfortable, felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. And no words can describe the views of behind the strip from the balcony of the room. I was on the 14th floor in one of the princess suites. It is a ways from The Strip though. It's about a $10 cab ride (if paying with credit card). It takes forever to get a cab though. The only things that were less desirable is the pool (way too small), valet (took forever to get car, and didn't open doors...just poor customer service), and room service (took over an hour to receive food, and it wasn't very good for the money spent). Overall though, I'd stay again and would recommend this hotel.

Immense chambre

Posted Jul 21, 2015
