clean and nice

Posted Oct 19, 2014
The Plaza has been completely remodeled. It is clean and nice and comfortable. The price is amazingly low. IF you are looking to party in vegas, then stay at the plaza and hit fremont street. IF you are wanting gourmet meals and Broadway shows then stay on the strip.

Great Hotel at the top end of Fremont street

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: bus to and from the airport had to park on the street next to the hotel rather that in the front. Was not that much of an inconvenience
Location: An excellent location at the top of covered Fremont street, music and entertainment just across the intersection.
We arrived early and was able to check in for an additional fee that was reasonable. We had a beautiful room with a view of the surrounding hills, very large and roomy, non smoking, with king size bed. Room looked and smelled new. decor was very pleasant with a love seat and glass topped table. We checked out the exercise room and found it clean and sufficient different machines to suit most anyone's needs plus cold water to drink and towels to use. We did not make it to the pool. The restaurant next to the lobby was clean and the food was outstanding, though a bit pricey, however, the portions were large enough that we just ordered one order and was able to split it and we were both to full to finish everything. The waiter was fun and very helpful, such a delight. There was a food court within the hotel with all kinds of different foods that people like and a little bistro that had wonderful sandwiches, salads, breakfast muffins and cakes, the best Italian Ice cream and many different drinks and snacks. The coffee was outstanding there. The casino was well arranged so you could find your way around, we did not notice the smoke so must have put in new ventilation system since we were there many years ago. Dealers were friendly and tables were neat and tidy. Over all we had a wonderful stay there.

Large Rooms & Good Location

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: Location and Room Comfort
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: Fremont Street Experience
The rooms were big but not as clean as I wanted. We did see a cockroach running about. But that was the only one. The wifi was good. And the location was excellent. Bang next to Fremont Street, so the party doesn't stop. Although the Hotel is not on the main strip, the Fremont Street experience was very good and the connectivity to the main strip is excellent. The bus and taxi stands are close by. The Deuce bus passes from Fremont Street and connects all the important locations on the Strip. Remember this Hotel is not on the main strip where the Wynn, Mandaly Bay, Luxor, Belagio hotels etc is located. This hotel is Downtown. So if you want to stay at the strip, then this is not the hotel for you. The hotel casino is nice and the staff are warm. Food is also quite good though not excellent. For Buffet you can walk across to Fremont where you will get plenty of options. So in short, Big Rooms, Good wifi, Good Food, Good Connectivity and Good Location.

Low cost option

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: cost.
Cons: New investment; injector of cash to impove the casino to draw people in. I spent more time at the Nugget and Golden Station, because of the casino.
Location: This hotel is at the end of Freemont street; which offers lots to do and see.
Hotel is somewhat run down and is poorly being maintained. My room overlooked the roof top pool. I was surprised to see that the majority of the roof actually looked like the roof. In other words, there was very little attempt to give it a positive pool atmosphere. My bed had numerous long hair in it. I wish I would have brought a black light. The casino seems like they are missing 1/2 the equipment.

Cons: Could use a buffet or something more kid friendly other then McDonalds or Subway. Had a Vegan with us and not many choices.
Location: Was there to see The band "Arena Tribute" on Fremont. Hotels and business in the area shall feel their loss when they leave the end of October.
Very friendly staff and convenient to what I was in Vegas to do. However, the room was cold and we could not adjust the AC to make it comfortable it was an all or nothing AC.

Comparable to hotels twice the $$$ in this area

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Big rooms, great wifi, great location, excellent price. Book of vouchers worth inwexcess of $300 when I checked in, many worth having..
Cons: Nothing
Location: Freemont Street Experience, Oscars Restaurant, Las Vegas Outlets, Casinos galore, hotel has a pool and sundeck, loads of drink, food, etc.
This is my 3rd time at the Plaza, the first since it was refurbished. And what a joy. The rooms are finished so nicely, really classy, very comfortable. At the end of Freemont Street experience its a great location and free parking for guests. This area of Vegas is quite expensive to park in. Wish I could have stayed longer,
