Needs work on the details

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: The room was spacious and mostly comfortable. The hotel concierge on duty during the afternoon of Sept. 25, 2014 was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: cleanliness
Location: not much nearby
Overall, my room was comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. I was, however, not happy with the details. For some reason, there were coasters but no drinking glasses in my room, and the ice bucket had residual water in it from whoever had used it before. It didn't seem very sanitary. I thought that this would be taken care of when I returned to my room at the end of the day, but not only had it not been taken care of -- the room hadn't even been cleaned. I don't think I left the "do not disturb" light on, but even if I had, most hotels leave a note saying that they'd at least stopped by to clean your room and say the "do not disturb."

Very disappointing vacation

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Ben and Jerry's
Cons: Cleanliness of rooms. Not charging for lounge chairs at pool area. Restaurants shouldn't surround casino since kids aren't allowed in casino area.
Location: not much to do nearby
We were visiting Nevada as a family and were trying to find a family friendly hotel in the Las Vegas area. We came across the Red Rock hotel in our search as it was listed on the internet as a family friendly hotel. Upon check-in the staff member helping us made it seem that our kids were welcome and that they were going to have a great time. She had us upgrade our room which cost us an additional charge that definitely wasn't worth it. It had one king bed and a couch for the kids. Within the first hour we had to have them come up to fix our tv. I was told they would bring pillows and blankets for the kids which we did not receive until the second night after I called down to ask for them a second time. Our room was so dusty that by the morning we woke up so congested from the dust. You could literally see the dust particles floating in the air and as you sat on the couch the dust particles would fly up from it. The furniture was covered in dust. I had to call the front desk to ask them to send someone to dust our room. To add to our frustration the next morning we decided to go to the pool area. My husband head down there ahead of me with my daughter. He had to make a business call and decided to sit on a chair in an area where they had some tables and chairs set up. No one was out there as it was 7:00 in the morning however as soon as he sat down a security guard came up yelling at him to tell him he couldn't sit there not caring that he was on the phone.

beautiful property, nice staff, excellent kids club, great fitness center & spa and great pool. Horrible buffet (embarrasingly poor food quality/freshness), fantastic steak house.

Beautiful Oasis Off the Strip

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere and magnificent views from our room.
Cons: To explain that if you move anything around you will be charged to do to a sensor in the refrigerator . The bill was adjusted.
Location: A new mall will be opening across from the resort on Oct. 9th, 2014.
Red Rock Is great! It was a wonderful experience, the staff were always courteous and went out of their way to accomodate our every demand. The food was delicious at their buffet and they have daily Blue Plate specials for $9.99. The entertainment was lively and I enjoyed the casino particularly because I'm not much of a gambler! A shuttle runs every couple of hours to the strip if you don't have a rentalcar. A new mall is opening across from the casino in early October - Downtown Summerlin. I can't wait to go back. My only hope is that Red Rock does not change and if so...only better!
