good location, nice view

Pros: location, close access to monorail and deuce bus, the tower is awesome and you get free access.
Cons: Some of the fixtures were showing age. ie, the vanity in my bathroom had a lot of caulking because it had come loose from the wall at some point.
Location: lots of local shops for souvenirs, some small restaurants around and an gun range close by.
I liked the location, close to monorail and deuce stops. 30 minute walk to fashion show mall. I liked the free tower access and the restaurant and lounge up there are great. good selection of shops in the 2nd floor mall. the room was clean and comfortable. some of the fixtures are showing age but it was a great value for the price I got on Expedia. I would definitely stay here again. I'm not a big gambler but it seemed like all the games were represented and the bar at the center had an all-you-can-drink happy hour. good selection of a la carte, sit down and buffet restaurants.

Nice hotel without digging a bing hole in pocket.

Pros: Price.
Cons: Hotel amenities can certainly be improved.
Location: Tower top view was amazing.
The premier room that I booked was a very basic room without any strip view. It was certainly clean, but from inside didn't give the feel of a premier living. I guess I expected a little more. Nevertheless if you want a decent room to crash at night, this might be it.

Would probably stay closer to the strip action if it weren't for it being close to the wedding chapel we used.

Try Somewhere else

On arrival, reception gave us a downgraded room, despite my paying more for an upgrade. Next day after complaining, we were given a standard room with no fridge or coffee maker. We were also charged "Resort Fee" which added $18 per night to our bill which we were not expecting and had no need for. Generally we thought that Housekeeping were more helpful than the Front of House & Casino staff, who were harassing us every time we entered the Hotel.

Clean, inexpensive and modern.

Though the hotel is about 5 miles north of the Luxor , Excalibur & New York New York....it's worth it. There's a city bus stop that's 24/7 right outside the hotel you can take as many times in a 24 hour period that you want for only $8.00. There's also a monorail system within a short walking distance. The hotel has nice restaurants and a nice pool. It also has extreme rides atop the Stratosphere. I would recommend this hotel to all.

Worst Experience

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The decoration of the rooms, Customer Service, Remodel the restroom, and somehow built bigger windows.
Location: The location is good, It is dangerous because is more in the unsafe area of Las Vegas, but we didn't mind, it was close enough to the Strip.
I was very excited to come to Las Vegas. A group of us went together and my husband and I got a room at the Stratosphere Hotel. We walked in and it look good, we were all excited. When checking in the customer services was terrible. The front desk was rude. We had landed early and we were able to check in early for $10 more. I was ok with that but he also stated we would not get the room on the upper floor that we had paid extra for, we could get it at 3pm on check in time. We decided to wait, our other party decided to pay $10 for the room. We came back for check in and excited to see our room. First of all, it was a disappointment. We were in the same floor as the other party which we had paid extra to stay in a nicer room and higher floor. Second, we walk in and it looks dirty with old furniture (one of our furniture had a hole in it, took pictures), nothing like the pictures on their website. Third, our view was a joke! we had the most tiny window I had ever seen. Fourth, the restrooms were a joke, so plane and the water pressure in our room did not work,(tried everything possible). Fifth, when it comes to the maintance of the room, they gave us the same towels that we had originally used, they were still wet. Finally everything was a horrible experience. Never will be staying here again, learn my leason. Will be paying a bit extra to stay on the strip at the Ceasers or something better.
