Spend your money elsewhere!

Posted Aug 23, 2014
After the first night we had to switch rooms as ours was facing the nightclub. Our second room had a clogged bathtub and sink with gum stuck to the top of the nightstand. The hotel pool wasn't available, as the hotel was under construction. The hotel is perfect as it's right in the middle of the strip but has nothing to offer. Will definitely not come back here or recommend it.

Dissapointed

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The new lobby was nice looking.
Cons: customer service
I booked and paid for my hotel room a month in advance. I got into Vegas at 8 pm and went straight to the hotel. When I got there, they said they didn't have a non-smoking room for me. So after I said," so if I don't take a smoking room then you don't have a room to offer me?", then someone else came over and said they could put us in a king bed room with a roll away bed. So I took that room. We got back into the room at midnight......and NO ROLL AWAY BED. The next morning I went to the front desk and complained, the girl was nice and said she would send up the roll away, and gave me $22 off the resort fee. The next day housekeeping came and did not leave any bath towels, I call down to the desk and they said they would bring some right up. Went out, came back later that night and NO towels. I know I didn't pay much for the room, but it was definitely not worth all of this hassle. Our room was by the outdoor bar, and the music was so loud all night, it was hard to get to sleep.

Still the IP...just has updated Casino area.

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: Hash House a go-go...THE BEST FOOD!!!
Cons: Hotel staff actually taking care of guest issues. Also getting the front desk to pick up the phone would be nice instead of 20 rings to the operator.
I have stayed at The Quad a couple times back when it was the IP. You knew some basics about it in that it wasnt the greatest place on the strip and was definitely outdated but it has a GREAT location on the strip and always had a reasonable price. I had a wedding to attend and had a small budget so I thought I would give the "new" Quad a try and in reality nothing has changed. The casino area has been updated and O'sheas has been integrated into it so that area is a plus and the new walkway area leading up to the High Roller was kinda cool. What has not changed is the rest of the hotel...room is still VERY basic with little light and only a handful of channels on the tv and walking thru the hallways and elevators you know you are at a older hotel. For the price you already know these things and are prepared to live with it HOWEVER the problem I had with this trip was the inroom AC unit. August in Vegas is always hot so you need this unit to run and mine did run but SOUNDED LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN when it was in AC mode. It was either sleep in a swelting/musty room or listen to that ALL NIGHT. I called down 3 times to get it fixed and nobody ever showed up to fix it or at least look at it and look at moving me to another room. I can deal with an older hotel but poor customer service and lack of caring about your guests can be controlled by the staff working and they failed miserably on this trip for me. Next time I have budget constraints I will NOT be using the "new" Quad.

Stinky room; pool closed

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The casino was welcoming, and the on-site restaurants were good.
Cons: Fumagate rooms. Announce clearly in advertising what facilities are/not working.
Location: Conveniently located in the heart of the strip and next to the Monorail.
The Quad needs to inform Expedia that their pool is closed for renovations. We were told we could use the pool at the hotel next door, but this was neither what we expected nor convenient. Although our room was "non-smoking," it reeked of smoke. Further, our balcony door was permanently closed.
