Relaxing holiday

Location: A bit remote and not as much nearby as advertised. Good golf course next door
The hotel looks excellent on first arrival with a long drive. Check-in was easy - I had read other negative reviews on the check-in staff but I couldn't fault them, even on check out when I queried a cost, they amended it straight away. Car parking is easy, although could do with some shade as temperature in car was 60 degrees one day. We had a room overlooking the lake, fabulous view. Room was clean and comfortable, good wifi, clean bathroom and good shower, fridge and safe in room - these are the most important things to us so good. My partner thought the gym was very good. Restaurants we thought were overpriced for what you get - I think the buffet breakfast was overpriced by just my opinion. M Pool area was nice with 2 good sized pools and plenty of sunbeds - could do with some more umbrellas as not enough to go round and temperatures were 110+ degrees Marrakesh Express cafe says it is open until 6pm but was closed by 2pm the days we went there. The only real negative I have is that on their website under things to do in the area, it still recommends the Montelago Village with lots of boutique shops and restaurants. It does say that the Casino at Montelago has temporarily suspended operations and this unfortunately has had an effect on the shops and restaurants. All but one shop is open, there are a couple of restaurants open but it is like a ghost town. Just think this is a bit misleading. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you want a nice relaxing brea

OK for the Big Things, Not for the Small

Pros: It was not in the mainstream.
Cons: Someone please get Lake Las Vegas a market or a convenience store!
Location: An error in Senior 55+ Magazine got me there on July 5th for promised night fireworks. It was a typo! There were no fireworks! Nothing else to do!
The big things were good at Westin (room, pool, views), it was the small things that were a problem. By small things I mean you really get ripped off with HIGH prices in the lobby hotel shop! And neither the hotel area nor the nearby village have any place you can go to get cheap snacks. It's like a prison in this department. NO grocery store, NO convenience store, NO fast food place! ANY WHERE IN LAKE LAS VEGAS! Only the hugely wealthy probably would not mind.

Exceptional and Luxurious

Pros: Price and amenities, staff.
Cons: Not close to I-15 but not a major problem.
My party reacted from start to finish with Wow". Great rooms with view of pool area. Staff very friendly and all amenities were well kept and polished. Lots of fun for the younger members of my group.

Not as nice as it once was

Pros: Very close to Lake Mead
Cons: Everything can be improved!
Location: 10 minutes from Lake Mead. Las Vegas is 30 minutes.
Had a lg group, 4 rooms for 5 days during a holiday. Rooms were adequate. None of us had heavenly beds. Bed linens were nice. Valet staff was just short of rude; we asked if they could put up sunshade in car once they parked it, they heaved sighs and said no. The temps were over 110 degrees, NONE of the ice machines worked on any floor. Called room service but no answer unless you waited 3+ mins as phone rang. Tried to order a meal from room service only to be told we had an old menu. A new menu was delivered a while later only to have prices increased by 1/3 (soup was $8 now $12; pint of ice cream was $10 now $15) and service chgs were 23% + $4 not incl tip. We reserved cabanas months ahead for our stay since it was a holiday. When we went to check in, we were told prices were $300 instead of $250 as advertised everywhere, we showed them our confirmation and a mgr finally agreed to $250 per day. All furniture in hotel is old, filthy and shabby. Carpets in halls are threadbare. Maids were awesome and did their best to keep rooms clean. Pool service was decent however most servers wouldn't pick up empty cups/bottles/cans around pools and some of that trash wound up in the pools. Used to be you could order food/drinks around the pools but only drinks now. If you wanted food you had to eat at snack bars or in your cabana if you had one. Pool water was cloudy, never clear during our stay.

Kids had a awesome time,enjoy movie night at the pool. 4th of July fireworks were amazing ..

Great family resort

We arrived around 6:00 in the evening. There were only two receptionist to check us in. There were long line. We waited for half an hour to just check in. But an upgrading our room was so easy. Hotel room was very nice. There were many attractions for a family in this hotel. You could spend there all day without going anywhere else.

wonderful vacation

Pros: Room, pool, the view of the lake
Cons: room service would be great.
Location: we went to the strip, attended a couple of shows at the Luxor and went jet skiing at the Marina/Lake Mead... wonderful experience.
Our stay was magnificent... our room and view was beautiful and very clean and the staff was very hospitable. The prices were very high for the drinks, food etc but well worth it, overall it was a great experience. We did not want to leave and so we extended our stay for one more day. We will def. recommend to family and friends and will be back, hopefully soon.

Beautiful scenery

The worst customer service I have ever had. Every employee rolled their eyes and were very rude. Obviously the hotel is hurting because each person was very negative and unfriendly. The hotel was beautiful but the staff made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable with that energy. I hope that they can find happiness and leave their issues outside of work. Noone should see that, especially paying guests trying to relax.
