Nice hotel location and nice hotel

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Nice location
Cons: I wish they have a trail for people to walk around the lake in the bridge and have a few palces to view the lake around.
Location: The location of the hotels is very good but no other places near by for things to do.
We were there one night because we saw the hotel online look beautiful but we were there the wrong time and date. Becasue there was just a bunch of a group full of people festival going on the whole week and they are trashes and dirt all over the hotel inside and outside, some of the stairs, places were full of dirty of alcohoe. The room we stay in were very dirty and dusty. The next day, people were cleaning every where.

Near Vegas - not "Vegas"

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Quiet and peaceful
Location: Walking, hiking, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam,
Perfect hotel if you need to be in Vegas but would prefer a quiet, more serene atmosphere. The grounds are very pretty, the atmosphere is quiet and restful. The drive to downtown Las Vegas is about 25 minutes and the traffic is not bad. Be sure to add about $33 to the nightly cost for the resort fee and tax - collected by the hotel. Lake Mead and Hoover Dam are a short drive up the road.

An extremely disappointing experience

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: The view of the lake was pretty amazing. Unfortunately it does not make up for the the fact that they gave away our lake view room and rude service.
Cons: Don't expect any poolside service either, the employees tend to congregate around the car area and will shoot you shifty-eyed looks if you get close.
Location: Don't plan on kayaking if you're staying on a weekend, chances are you'll be waiting for hours since there's usually a wait since they only have four.
This Westin deserves to be called the Worst-Inn! I booked a room with a lake view and was hoping to have a relaxing stay-cation with my SO for the weekend. When I checked in I was told that they "were at capacity" and that I was apparently getting the last room they had, mind you the lake view room I booked was "guaranteed" but that didn't seem to matter to the front desk. We were instead given a room that looked out onto the parking lot, as if we wanted to stare at more asphalt and cars after driving the 4+ hours to this resort. We shrugged it off and went to bed, tired from the long drive in. The breakfast buffet was lackluster except for the employee cooking 6 omelets at a time, pretty much the only exciting thing to see at this resort. We quickly ate our meals, eager to see if the pool and the other "amenities" the hotel claimed to offer would make up for the room mishap. We received the bill and paid. The total for the breakfast buffet for us two came out to roughly $40. The tall, blonde server with the ponytail (John) was quite attentive and very friendly so I decided to leave an $8 tip ($3 on the card and $5 in cash). When he returned with my card and receipt I noticed he had decided to tip himself $10 on the card and pocket the $5 bill. I'm so sorry the 20% tip wasn't to your liking!

High class, amazing setting

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: It really is beautiful, just like the pictures! Warm pool!
Cons: Bigger beds are needed!!
Location: Resort is 30min to strip and airport. Great shopping in Henderson at The District-10 min. Hoover dam 30 min. West rim 2 hours.Go see Cirque du Soleil
Great price through expedia. Beautiful setting and high class. Friendly staff and good food and drinks, although pricey. Not too far from Strip..30 minutes. We do not gamble so it was nice to stay at a quiet resort without a casino. Convenient to Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and West Rim of Grand Canyon (dangerous for little kids). Only negative - resort has DOUBLE beds...queens would be a nice, or at least an option. Prices for food and especially drinks are double what we pay at home, but there is a refrigerator so stock up from a liquor store in Henderson. Oh yea, RESORT FEE really added up, so inquired directly because it was higher than Expedia quoted.

Very nice hotel! A nice escape from the craziness of the Strip. The staff was exceptionally accommodating and the facilities are very nice. I would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

New favorite place to vacation!

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Location: The hotel was about a 1/2 hour from the strip which is exactly what we wanted. We wanted warm weather and great pools away from the crowds.
We were looking for a place where we could spend some time with our two grown daughters and escape the craziness of daily life. We stayed for three nights and our expectations were beyond exceeded. Our beds were soft with 2 pillows each to pick our favorite. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I loved that we were able to use the kayaks for free and didn't feel nickel and dimed. We sat by the fires at night and watched the sun rise with coffee and the best blueberry scone I have ever eaten in my life. I can't wait to go back.

Beautiful setting but...

Posted Mar 27, 2015
This hotel is beautiful on the outside and the beds were very comfortable. However, the carpet on my room was disgusting. And there was dog poop in the children's play area. The staff was very indifferent. It seemed like they just didn't care. The food was mediocre at best and the service was very slow. The entrance to the hotel and the outside sitting areas by the fire were awesome. I wish there was a trail around the lake for walking. Also, the $15 valet charge is ridiculous.

Short Break

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: Location, View, setting, amenities, quiet respite.
Cons: Only 1 on site restaurant on Sunday's; pool closes too early in evening, no outdoor dining opportunities.
Location: We chose to just relax, but golf, bike riding, kyaking, shopping, hiking, etc. readily available. All the amenities of Las Vegas only a short drive.
Lovely hotel, beautiful setting and community, GREAT to be out of the typical Las Vegas hype.

Nice, but not worth the distance from the strip.

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Pretty setting, fashionable and comfortable.
Cons: Shampoo in the room would have been nice - simply forgotten I suspect by the maid service, but I did not discover it until in the shower.
Location: Nothing to do nearby, but they had lots of lake things - kayaks, boats, etc. but all at additonal cost. Golf and tennis again at cost Pool was nice
After spending a couple of days in Death Valley (fabulous and amazing), spent the night at Lake Las Vegas because we wanted to see what it was like. Not worth the distance and the price as could stay in one of the strip hotels at a better deal. Room did not have any shampoo. Although they say you get two complementary waters, only one was in the room. Room service comes with ridiculous add on fees for using the service. Had breakfast in the hotel cafe and had a good eggs Benedict, but the potatoes were not cooked through and had no flavor. Also, was the worst plating I've ever seen -- a white plate, very pale Hollandaise sauce and pale potatoes without any garnish to bring color or even a bit of fruit on the plate. Boring and disappointing from a high-end hotel. A major plus, however, was the bottomless fresh-squeezed orange juice. Pool was nice (excellent bloody mary); did not get to their beach area which looked nice from above. Lots of activity choices but all with a price. Would never go back.
