Gem in Vegas

Posted Mar 3, 2015
I was looking for family friendly away from the smoke and hustle. This is the place. The pool was heated to like 80 degrees in February and my kids had a blast on the beach. We will be back. cons: not great dining choices for kids and far away from town. We chose to do room service instead of the fancy restraunt and that worked out better and it was reasonable.

Loved our stay

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Cons: Internet service was extremely slow.
Location: The hotel is quite isolated which makes it nice and quiet. Scenery is breathtaking. Lots to do nearby like golfing, boating, biking and walking trails.
Recently spent a week as a couple at the Westin Lake resort. It was everything we hoped it would be. Courteous and helpful staff at front desk,in the restaurants,at the valet, pool area and housekeeping. Played golf at nearby reflection bay and enjoyed it tremendously. Shuttle service to the strip and nearby village was very convenient. The hotel grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Rooms were clean and comfortable.would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.

Pros: Every thing! The room is exceptionally roomy and comfortable. The king bed was luxuriously comfy! Quiet room, good sleep.
We dined at Rick's cafe for breakfast and dinner. The food was very good, service was excellent, staff very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the pool area, beach area, also made smores in the evening at the beach firepit. Took grandkids fishing at marina (close by), and hiking. Will definitely be back for another stay.

Amenities

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: We loved the fire pits along with the many comfortable areas for relaxing.
Cons: The restaurants although good, were expensive. We ate at the least expensive restaurant and paid what is usually a once in a year extravaganza for us.
Location: We liked being by Lake Mead and some casinos near us.
It was a hotel with many things to do. Water, pools, self contained

Peaceful place to stay away but close to the strip

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Peaceful and relaxing
Cons: Fix the noisy/high pitch turtles by the firepits.
Location: 30 minutes or so from the strip and close to the Hoover Dam.
When we first arrived and got our rental car we drove through the strip as my kids had never been there and it had been years for myself and my husband. It was getting late so we headed for the hotel. As soon as we turned into the hotel grounds I felt more calm and relaxed. It had been a stressful week and the hotel vibe was just what we needed. We wanted a get away with the kids and the hotel provided about a 30 minute drive to the strip for shows and it was also close to make a trip to the Hoover Dam. The pool was peaceful and it was nice to sit by the fire pit in the evening. We were happy with the quick service meals we got and ate once at Rick's Cafe. Both were nothing amazing but nice overall. So why did I not gie the hotel a "5"? The firepits were usually fairly busy with people, which is fine, but they allowed smoking. There was a man with a cigar and the smell was everywhere we tried to go. We are from a state were outside smoking is not permitted in public areas. Also, some of the turlte staue/fountains, were putting off such a high pitched noise that it took away from the peaceful calm of the firepit experience and the beautiful water areas. Lastly, the room was clean overall, but some addtional attention to the shower/tub would have been nice.

Dinning Experience second to none!

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: Nothing
Location: Close to shopping and Las Vegas but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. Golf course surrounded the facility
Our party had the pleasure of eating at RICK’S CAFÉ. Our waiter was Jose, he was a gem. He looked after us and made us feel particularly special. His friendly disposition and professionalism was a pleasure. Every concern was looked after and his prompt service was made our two evening meals memorable. Next, the head chef, Cormack came out to meet and greet each table guest. This was rare treat as well. Not often you do you get to meet the person that is directly overseeing the preparation of your meal. He made repeated visits to make sure everything was perfect and we are glad to report is was simply outstanding. The remaining management staff also visited our table and even took a photo with us. We have never felt more important and special. THank you to the entire staff at the Las Vegas Lake Westin for making our stay one to remember and we will definitely be back to see our friends.

Wonderful location, wonderful stay!

Posted Feb 15, 2015
Pros: Just about everything!
Location: We enjoyed a helicopter ride over the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.
We stayed at the Westin Lake Las Vegas for a week. Being that far from the city of Las Vegas was exactly what we were looking for. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Westin offers a unique setting with a serene environment and a laid back atmosphere. We loved the food, the pool, the grounds and everything about the Westin Lake Las Vegas was what we had hoped for.

beautiful serene setting and nice facility

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: location, decor, and friendliness of the staff.
Cons: attention to the fitness equipment and the room decor is a little tired
Location: remote location but worth the drive
It was a disappointment that some of the treadmills and ellipticals were not working when the fitness center was crowded. This was the case over 3 days last week.

Unexpected

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Location: Everything you would want is near by, walking, golf, big lake-little lake, sights and of course Vegas. be sure to rent a car great driving
25 years ago we got married in Vegas, so this trip was special. Since we're older now staying on the Strip didn't seem so exciting. The Westin Lake Las Vegas in Henderson was a great choice. The basic room was larger than most, King bed was very comfortable, bathroom was large enough for two adults and the view is what made the trip. Sunrise over the Desert Hills overlooking Lake Las Vegas was gorgeous. We are going to return but maybe early Spring so we can enjoy all the outdoor emenities(60 degree highs was just warm enough for us Northeners to go into the pool)
