Amazingly Serene location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: I loved the amenities, the waterslide, paddleboarding, kayaking, basketball court for my son. The cabanas and service were wonderful
If you want to get away from it all, but still be within a decent distance of Vegas, this is the place to be

Great Vegas option for families

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Covered parking for summer months would be great. Surrounding shops, casino, golf courses haven't survived but Westin is still going strong at least.
Location: Lake Las Vegas & Lake Mead for outdoor options. Vegas Strip (20-25 mins away). Henderson (5 mins).
From the water slide and lake activities to reasonable prices and a free shuttle to/from the Strip, there's a lot to like about this diamond in the desert. Kid-friendly activities on the weekends make it perfect for children, but attentive staff and secluded, Four Diamond accommodations make it great for adults, too.

Great resort with all the amenities!

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: How you felt that you were in a tropical location yet so close to the strip. The resort it self was beautiful and well maintained.
Cons: Servers at the poolside- if they could know a little more about the menu options rather then just guessing.
Location: Location was beautiful. If you want to do things around the hotel and or head to the strip we recommend renting car.
We recently just returned from our Westin Lake Las Vegas stay and couldn't be more happier with our choice. At first we were concerned with the distance from the strip, but only 20-25 minute car ride and you were right in the action. The resort felt that we were somewhere tropical and had all the amenities that one would need. The management was very friendly and helpful. Always going above and beyond to ensure that your stay is the best possible. The resort had many activities to choose from and on the weekends during the summer have the "summer beach party". For $5 you can purchase a s'more kit and have a campfire down at the beach. We also enjoyed the water sports such as the paddle boarding on the lake which was only $30 for an hour via "paddle to the core". We found this to be very reasonable as were we are from it can range from $65-100. The two restaurants were also very good. The sushi one being our favourite and having great service by our server. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to all our friends/family and would definitely be back!

Not your Westin Experience

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Lake Las Vegas. Great pool and beach scene, along with paddle boarding.
Cons: Guarantee the reservations and the room reserved. Stop making excuses.
Was looking forward to a romantic weekend with my wife at Lake Las Vegas. Selected the Premium room to have a view of the lake. Upon arrival we were told that the King bed rooms were "all sold out" even though we had placed a reservation a week in advance. We were told that rooms booked through Expedia where 'Run of the House' and NOT guaranteed. We were told a supervisor would call us to discuss but this never happened. I had to leave the room early the next day so was not able to follow up. My wife had breakfast in the room which was advertised a $15. but ended up being almost $40? Extra Orange Juice? Hmmmm

Peaceful

Posted Jul 13, 2014
This was the best place to stay away from the strip. Great views felt like you were not in Vegas but in a completely different place. The bell captain went above and beyond when he found out it was our birthday and anniversary get a away. Perfect vacation!

Nice hotel

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Everything except the location, too far from the strip.
Cons: If the village had a casino and was filled up with more shops and restuarants and stayed open later. Transportation to the village.
Location: Location is beautiful but to far away from everything.
Nice hotel, but could not use Kayak as the desk felt it was too windy. Breakfast buffet was not that good, as pancakes were still frozen, not a big selection for the price. Lunch at the poolside was excellent. Not enough restuarants to choose from as the village only had a few things and the casino had been closed for months, very disserted. The strip was a 30 minutes away which was a bit far. This hotel is only good for a romantic getaway as it quiet or a close proximity to Lake Mead.

Beautiful Hotel close to Vegas

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The rooms were very comfortable. The beds were great.
Cons: Pools, boat rentals, and water slide could be open later. Especially in the summer when it is light late.
Location: Away from the city, but not hard to get to the strip.
Wonderful hotel away from the strip. Activities for everyone. The Buffet was great.

Nice hotel, But...

Posted Jun 24, 2014
First day no toiletries in room, second and third day the complementary water bottles were missing, with 100 F outside. Matter was corrected. ..suggests that house cleaning staff are poorly trained or thieves.

Relaxing, comfortable and beautiful

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: No casinos!!! I loved coming down to the lobby in the morning to get coffee and not hearing dinging and clanging of machines! very relaxing.
Cons: The hotel sits on lake Mead and the hotel provides water sports equipment to use as part of your resort fee. All equipment was old and needs updating
Location: We went to Hoover Dam one day, Boulder City, downtown Vegas and of course, The Strip. All of these places were within a 30 minute drive or less.
We were looking for a resort feel with a great pool and good food on site. The pools were beautiful and it was nice that one catered more to the kiddies and one to the adults. The water in the pools was WAY to warm to be refreshing. It would have been nice to actually have been able to get in the water to cool off! Poolside beverages were definitely on the spendy side, but the food service was reasonable and the food was great. Both restaurants in the hotel had excellent food and service. We also visited the nearby Hilton Hotel and resort area and had three meals at three different restaurants in the village surrounding the hotel. The entire Lake Mead resort area is recovering after taking a big hit during the recent recession. The Westin golf course has been closed for over two years and is nothing but brown. Many of the shops and restaurants in the village area are closed and the whole place had sort of a ghost town feel to it mid week. However, if you are looking for quiet and relaxing, this is the place for you!
