I was in Las Vegas for a convention and I chose to stay at the Mirage rather than the Paris Hotel where the show was being held. The room was amazing and the staff went above and beyond what I expected. I had leftover food from the Carnegie Deli (their portions are insane) and the front desk sent up a refrigerator for my food! I had made a mistake booking a show and the staff credited me for my mistake. I would recommend this Hotel very highly,

"Ruff Start / Smooth Ending"
I was in Vegas for a IICRC Certification Class, and Test that is much needed for a business that I an a friend recently started. My friend setup my hotel stay at SLS Hotel & Casino thru a 3rd party website. He received a Discounted Rate for using the 3rd party website. When I arrived at SLS Hotel & Casino I was pretty upset that since my business partner was not there to sign for the Hotel Room even though it was booked in my name they required him to complete there Card Authorization Form. The process took just under 3 hours to complete! I ended up sitting at the Bar accross from the Hotle Check In during that 3 hours waiting for my business partner to Email them the Form : ( It took so long because his wife paid for a room at a 5 Star Hotel. They where on a "Married Date" out in Las Vegas when I was calling to ask them to complete the Form. After finally getting my room key I went to the 8th floor. When the Elevator opened I was in shock at how awesome the hall way looked : ) I was even more impressed by the room. I am currently living in a Rental Property After I purchase my 1st home I will pay to have an exact replica of that Hotel Room placed in my home. The design of the room was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Other then the 3 hour wait to get my Room Key my stay at the SLS Hotel & Casino was awesome!!! I even won $180 off of playing their spinning wheel game. I won 2 of the 3 bets I had placed in less then 10 minutes.

I absolutely LOVE this hotel. This is by far, the nicest hotel on Fremont Street! The hotel is clean, comfortable, updated and the staff is superior! It provides a number of dining options to suit everyone's needs. Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse is excellent and I highly recommend anyone staying here, to pay this restaurant a visit, you won't be disappointed!!

"inexpensive but friendly"
I never saw one staff member that did not have a smile on his/her face. From the dealers in the casino to the Keno/sports book workers, waitresses, front desk agents, security guards and housekeepers. I know that I am missing some (sorry). Everyone gave me a pleasant greeting it did not matter where or when it was. I wish that the scale went higher than a 5, but I will give them a 100. Looking forward to going back.

Where to stay in Las Vegas

    Las Vegas Hotel Guide

Known as the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas, Nevada, shines brightly both metaphorically and physically. From outer space, Las Vegas is the brightest city in the world, but back down on earth, it is home to some of the top star performers from Celine Dion and Criss Angel to the Cirque du Soleil and The Blue Man Group. Just like bugs attracted to the light, travelers from around the world flock to Sin City to reserve the best deals on hotels in Las Vegas for an unforgettable vacation. Book your flight to Las Vegas today to kick start your adventures on The Strip.

    Hotels

When it comes to Las Vegas hotels, the selection is vast. You’ll find all sorts of accommodations here, including resorts located on The Strip and Freemont Street. There is also a variety of lodging available in nearby areas, such as North Las Vegas, Henderson, and South of The Strip, when you want a break from the nightlife. Whether you’re looking for hotels with casinos and on-site shows or hotels with pool access and lounges, there’s a place for you.

    Transportation

Because Las Vegas has packed so many hotels and attractions along The Strip, visitors can experience many of the sites on their own two feet. While a walking tour may seem appealing, remember to stick to the crosswalks and sidewalks to avoid receiving a jaywalking ticket and holding up traffic.

Contrary to popular belief, the resorts and casinos are spread out, due to their sheer size, so a rental car can come in handy. Vacationers who want to expand their horizons beyond walking distance may want to book affordable car rentals in advance. Many of the luxury hotels feature free parking or validations, so finding a parking spot is hassle-free.

There are also numerous taxi services and buses, such as The Deuce and Citizen Area Transit (CAT), which will gladly transport visitors around town. Flag one down at a hotel because hailing one straight from the street is actually illegal in Las Vegas.

    Travel Basics

A town with the nickname “Sin City,” doesn’t receive such a reputation by turning its lights out after 9 p.m., which means the partying in Las Vegas usually continues into the early hours of morning. So if you plan on receiving a good night’s sleep while vacationing here, we suggest packing a pair of ear plugs to cancel out the noise - especially if you book one of the Vegas hotels in the middle of all the action.

As for venturing outside to the other attractions on The Strip, it’s best to create an itinerary. Though the stretch is only a little over four miles, you won’t want to back track or loop around all afternoon especially during the scorching summer months. Map out your route, pack your walking shoes, and remember to only cross at the designated cross walks.

    Weather

Although palm trees and water fountains may characterize Las Vegas, don’t be fooled; this tropical paradise is in the middle of the desert. And desert means scorching temperatures in the summer and chilly winter evenings. From June through August, Vegas usually sees temperatures soar between the 90 and 100 F, which can make walking around under the hot sun a sweaty, muggy experience. If you do plan to visit during these summer months, pack a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Alternatively, in December through February, Vegas can experience temperatures that drop to the 30s F, so pack a jacket and brace for the wind.

The best time to visit Sin City is during the spring and fall. During these seasons, the temperatures are mild and comfortable. Both of these times are sometimes considered low season, as the crowds tend to pick up during the summer months and holidays.

Regardless of what time of year you visit the brightest place on earth, the hot entertainment is sure to warm you up while the pool parties will keep you cool. Book your Las Vegas vacation package right here with Expedia.com to kick start your Sin City getaway today.
