Definitely not a 5 Star Hotel.Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: The junior suite we had was an excellent room. Modern, clean, and an amazing jacuzzi tub rain shower.
Cons: Actually make it all inclusive. Serve 5 star food.
Location: Get out of the hotel and go to the 2 local towns on either side of the property. You can walk to both!
This hotel may have been a 5 star hotel at some point, but seems like it was taken over by someone who is out there to grab every penny for every "extra charge" option available. Nothing is really included in the all inclusive. Food is average to below average. Overcooked, stale, and reheated on the buffets. 6 restaurants on the property but they don tell you that only 2 are available at a time, the others closed certain days of the week. You want Air Conditioning in your expensive suite, that will be extra. Tea/coffee that is complimentary at every other 5 star hotel on the planet will run you a charge here. That Jacuzzi that comes with your room on the patio, Ha! extra charge once you get there to fill it up and use it. SCAM city.

OvervurderetPosted Aug 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotellet har flere klasser på selve området, dvs at værelserne svinger voldsomt i kvalitet. Forplejningen på stedet var baseret omkring buffe' servering, der bestemt ikke lever op til hvad man ville forvente af et 5 stjernet resort.

Hotel romantico in stanza con piscina privataPosted Jun 16, 2013
Pros: La stanza con piscina privata e' davvero bella
Cons: Troppo affollato da famiglie
Location: Un po' isolato, occorre necessariamente avere l auto.
Parcheggio gratuito

OK but definitely not 5 starPosted Oct 11, 2012
Pros: Swimming pools
Cons: Tatty beach area, tatty sunbeds, foul smells around the hotel, isolated location, some staff not helpful or even pleasant
Location: Too far from anywhere worth going.
The hotel location is fairly isolated, 40 minutes drive from Heraklion airport, and 25 minutes from Agios Nicholaos. You really need a car to get anywhere, the roads are generally good but twisty. The local village of Milatos is a 10 minutes walk along a rough, coastal road. Here there are several tavernas serving reasonable food and a few shops. In the other direction you can walk to Sissi, which is a little bigger with some fairly tacky shops and tavernas. Parts of the hotel were nice - the pools, bar and restaurants were generally pleasant. There are plenty of sunbeds, towels and umbrellas but some sunbeds were very tatty, especially on and near the beach. The towels could have been nicer. The grounds were nicely landscaped but there were areas around the perimeter of the hotel which were quite scruffyand ugly, especially the beach. Do not go to this hotel if you are after a nice beach holiday - you will be disappointed. The hotel is built on a steep site and is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. The superior rooms were quite nice and centrally located but the standard rooms seemed quite far from the main building. There is a horrible smell of sewage in some areas of the hotel and in some rooms, and other unpleasant odours coming from an air vent near one of the restaurants. The breakfasts were OK but repetitive. The service and food in the Mediteranean hotel was awful. Overall, definitely not 5 star and will not be returning.

Overal reasonable value for moneyPosted Sep 26, 2012
Pros: Pools and room view
Cons: Having to pay for water at dinner, upgrade price was crazy and our leaky toilet
Location: Good as long as you have car
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Minos Imperial Luxury Resort, although there were a few unpleasant surprises. These surprises included that facts that 'Half Board' does not include wine at dinner or coffee at breakfast, but what was most annoying was that while 'All inclusive' guests were able to have glasses of water poured into glasses at their table, the 'Half Baord' guests were denied free water and forced to pay for it - This is rediculous. The room we stayed in was nice Deluxe Waterfront Diamond Class although we had a leaking toilet which was fixed. I found our bed to be very hard, although the room overall was quite nice, with a large TV and a great balcony with a great view. I'm glad we hired a car as we were able to explore the surrounding towns such as Milata and Sissi - which were both quite charming. The pools were nice, and we tried a couple of the restaurants Laguna Grill and Verandah Restaurant, which we found to be OK, although we were led to believe that the Verandah was A La Carte - but turned out to be another self service buffet. All in all I would say that this resort is reasonable value for money - but whatever you do, don't try to upgrade any aspect of your stay while at the resort, it costs almost 3 times as much as paying the difference in advance when making your initial booking .ie upgrading from Half Board to All Inclusive. Also - make sure you bring booties for the beach as you can not walk into the water without them, without enduring pain.

A 'hamlet' by the sea.Posted Sep 10, 2012
Pros: Beautiful setting, colourful gardens, interesting layout, tranquil pools and private spaces to spend time with family.
Cons: A welcome pack giving general information would have been useful in the room.
Location: Peaceful, but a little remote if you didnt have a car.
On arrival our room was not ready due to the departure of a large coach party. However, we were given a temporary room in which to rest, and as the setting was so beautiful we easily spent the time finding our way around the grounds of the hotel. Waiting was extremely worthwhile as we were given the perfect rooms overlooking the sea and only a few steps from a beautiful pool. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday.
