"Great Stay!"
Great staff, clean, wonderful hotel and restaurant. The location, while not location, while not on the Gran Villa, is better. The Calle Cava Baja is a nice tucked away, yet accessible strip with tons of tabernas near Plaza Major, Plaza del Sol, and Mercado San Miguel. There's free wifi in the restaurant and the rooms. The pictures on Expedia are accurate, but still do not do justice to the funky/tasteful/traditional modern Spanish aesthetic they cultivated. The bed was firm with a nice pillow top, the bathroom hardware was modern and worked well and the lighting was good. There were no drawers and a small clothing rack in my single room/double bed. Terrible TV selections, especially for English speakers. Load up some tv shows and movies from iTunes before you go. You're there for the sights, but there's always downtime. The guests are sophisticated and the atmosphere is lively, but not at all rowdy. This is more for young or young-at-heart couples, not so much for families. There are few extras (gym, outdoor space, etc.) but you are in the La Latina neighborhood and the #5 Metro (Green Line) gets you to Gran Villa in 2-3 short stops. Mine was a solo professional trip; when I return to Spain with the family, I'd stay at a hotel with larger rooms and more amenities. But for a couple on a fun get away, the Dragon Inn (Posada del Dragon) is hard to beat.

"Noisy hotel"
Never woke me up for wake up call, late for flight. They stated if I made reservations for breakfast the day before it would be less expensive so I did. They had no record of it.

"Central location, clean and cheap"
Stayed here with family in a family room. Very easy, clean and quite cheap. Really good location in Latin district, convenient for sight seeing or Cafes. Four bedded room better suited to 2adults 2younger children as pull down sofa not large but managed fine. Pleasant staff and would definitely stay again

    Latina, Madrid Hotel Guide

The oldest neighborhood of Madrid, La Latina’s maze of streets is famous for the traditional tabernas that hide around every corner, presenting the perfect opportunity to sample classic Spanish tapas like patatas bravas and the potato omelet known as tortilla Española. On the eastern edge of the neighborhood you’ll find El Rastro, the popular open-air flea market held on Sundays and holidays.
