Fun and Convenient

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Right outside of Cincinnati and easy to find.
Cons: Nothing I can think of!
Location: Right off the Ohio river, near Cincy , antique joints and casino's, a little something for everyone.
Perfect location as a stop over to Tennessee, nice casino and well kept place. Peaceful sleep!

Ok, Hotel...Kind of Old

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Cons: Upgrades
The casino hotel was okay. Would have been better at a lower rate. I went during the Jazz festival, when all hotel prices are extremely jacked up in price. Because I have been to several casino's in the past, I would say that, the rooms could have been upgraded, but overall it was okay.

Sunday @ Sonny's

Half the price, twice as clean and comfortable as the Hollywood. Nice drive to get there and the Casino is clean and did something to keep the smoke from the smokers, from bothering others.

Booked trip well in advance with 4 other couples. We heard the new hotel would be open but we requested to all be together in the main hotel attached to the casino. After receiving confirmation we would all be together, we were not. 2 couples were placed in the newer hotel without the same amenities such as a couch and refrigerator that was included at the main hotel with the King size bed.

Good location for Kentucky Speedway

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Location, new building and comfortable room.
Cons: Adjust. Mormon area room temperature. We were there duing hot weather and the air conditioning was not adjusted properly.
Location: Small town. Restaurants were good. Not many food options late at night.
Liked being in new building away from Casino. The room was spacious. The kitchenette counter was convenient with sink, microwave and frig. The bathroom had large vanity. Very comfortable room. The hallway was cold, they have an opportunity to save on utility costs if they adjust common area room temperatures. There were delays in getting our room. It appeared the housekeeping staff was behind. Overall experience was good. We would stay here again if in the area.

I HIGHLY suggest you take the drive to this Casino

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Everything! Friendly, helpful staff! Excellent clean and comfortable rooms! Casino was fun and clean! Buffet was tasty!
Cons: More signage on the I-56 road leading into the Casino letting travelers know that they are on the way. We were following GPS but weren't sure.
Location: The location is in a small town, not much there but the casino. Bring EVERYTHING you need before you get there. No convenience store or gas station.
The front desk staff and management at the hotel are second to NONE! Expedia messed up our reservations and never sent them to the Rising Star Casino/Hotel. I had booked 3 rooms and they didn't have a record of it when we arrived. They quickly found us 3 rooms (close to one another) and we check in with no problem. The rooms are new, nicely decorated, modern and SO comfortable! Everything in the room was cozy and welcoming. The toiletries and coffee maker are a plus! We had a double queen room and when we left I wanted to take one of the beds and pillows with us it was so comfortable! The vending area had everything....a frozen food vending machine with a microwave beside it (EXCELLENT IDEA!!!), soda machine and snack machine as well as ice machine. The lobby of the hotel also had a free computer set up with wifi for the customers to use. The casino is very clean and organized. It is a smoking casino but you would hardly know it. The ventilation in there must be top notch because it doesn't smell smoky at all! The buffet we ate at breakfast time (not for dinner) and it was fabulous as well. It was a long drive down a not very nice road leading to the casino and I was pleasantly surprised at the end. I would HIGHLY Recommend this place to any of my friends and family!

Best hotel experience we ever had

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: It would be nice if there were benches outside the new hotel for smokers to sit on while smoking.
Location: We were there for the Nascar race primarily, therefore did not have a lot of time to explore whatever else was around the area.
This was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. From the moment we arrived and checked in , we had superior customer service! Special mention goes to the VIP Services Rep, Renee... we loved her! Also, service in the buffet restaurant was excellent, as was the choice and quality of the food. We will definitely be back to visit this hotel.

Worth the drive.

Location: Close to many historic locations (things I like), the Creation Museum, Cincinnatti and Newport.
Clean accommodations with friendly staff located a short drive from everything I wanted to see at a very reasonable price. I didn't win the Mercedes but then I can't have everything.
