Hotel close to DeadwoodPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: Location. A/C worked
Cons: Being that this is a small town hotel, I would not expect it to be super updated and state of the art...but it could use new carpet, etc.
Location: Lead is BEAUTIFUL.....super close to Deadwood, lots of stuff to do in the area......love!
This hotel had a very convenient location, 5 minute drive to Deadwood, the hotel staff was very nice and vary accomodating. The minus is that the hotel felt like it was straight out of the 1970's. It was clean enough but in very rough condition.

Could of been betterPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Checking out
Very slow elevator and something about the room just didn't care for it. Plus the room next store in the afternoon there was a lot of yelling and I thought about asking for another room but didn't that was a mistake. That night all hell broke out in the next room.

Unfriendly Desk ClerkPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Made the reservation on line. Hotel fine but location not good.
Cons: Friendlier staff
When checking in, which was late in the afternoon, we were assigned a room on the fifth floor. After unloading the car with suitcases and belongings, we proceeded to the assigned room, only to find the room had not yet been cleaned. While family waited in the hallway, I went to the desk and asked for another room. The clerk seemed to be bothered and unfriendly, and asked me if there was a maid on the floor and to follow him back to the fifth floor. I asked if I could just get another room. He just shrugged it off, so we went back up to the fifth floor, looked into the room, looked for a maid, then I returned with him to the desk whereupon he gave us another room on the fourth floor. Would recommend staying in Deadwood if possible.

Only a place to sleepPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Not a lot
Cons: The carpet and furniture. The airconditioner
Location: Location was perfect
The house keeping staff was excellent. The front desk people were ok. The air conditioner was extremely loud when it kicked and had a very loud buzzing hum all night. The carpet was old and worn. The chairs were filthy.

You get what you pay for.Posted Aug 27, 2013
Cons: Staff checking us in- not aware of local information & charged again for room already paid for. Obvious maintenance required in room.
Hotel and lobby - look nice. In a good setting - top of hill with nice view - easy enough to get to. Staff were nice, but not knowledgeable. Continental breakfast was standard-kept running out of coffee. I don't mind older decor - but room had peeling wallpaper, shower drain that didn't drain and some ceiling damage. These are obvious problems that the cleaning staff should have reported - not paying guests. Otherwise room would have been acceptable for cost.

The 1st room I was give smelled smokey I was movedPosted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: The air conditioner worked well and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Up grade the carpeting which was bad everywhere in both the rooms I was in and the hallways.
Location: It was what I expected for the area.
The 2nd room did not smell of smoke, but the condition of the room okay, very very poor condition of the carpeting. The internet worked in the 1st room I was given but after moving to another room it would not work. I asked at the desk twice and no one was able or tried to help. The food for the "continental" breakfast was very limited and lacking. There was a dog in a guest room on my floor that was barking. I stayed 2 nights and wanted my bed made, I made sure there were no personal items and still know one made the bed. Also, they did not clean the sink. Also there was dust on the lamps shades and TV.
