“Wedding parties and sleepless nights in paradise”
Beautiful hotel. Only problem is it is perfect setting for weddings..which is nice...except rowdy wedding receptions and overnight guests partying tlll they drop can be disturbing.
“A Cinnamon Gem”
We received a warm welcome on a cold day by Kathy and her mother. The room was quite large and well appointed. The small refrigerator was well stocked for our needs. There was no smell of disinfectant or any odor at all which was a very pleasant surprise considering some of the B&B s and motels we've stayed at in the past. There was regular coffee and decaf in the morning on the landing just outside our door. For breakfast I had a cinnamon bun without frosting (my request) and an outstanding quiche made to order. My wife requested only toast which the proprietors provided. We decided on this B&B after reading the online reviews and were not disappointed. Kathy well gladly go to bat for your should you have any special requests. \ One other thing: Their recommendations for dinner at local restaurants are without fault.
“Great get away”
Historic hotel on lake, good resturant in hotel and walking to town. Friendly staff. Pool needs resurfacing
“Perfect Christmas Getaway”
My wife and I spent Christmas Eve and Day at Lakeside Inn. I called several days prior to our arrival for information and dinner reservations. Debra answered all my questions accurately and met us upon check in. She remembered my by name and recalled our conversation. We felt at home immediately. Our room was perfect and the location - lakeside obviously - couldn't be better. Breakfast was excellent. The Christmas Day Champagne Brunch (all day) was one of the best I have ever experienced. The entire staff ensures that you enjoy your stay. One note on the staffs commitment to the guest: 600 people were served at the Brunch. I didn't hear a single complaint and we watched as the staffed removed tables and chairs and replaced all the furniture in the lobby which had been turned into dining area for the occassion. The staff finished about 9pm Christmas Day!!!! I highly recommend Lakeside Inn for a wonderful getaway anytime of year. The town of Mount Dora has several fine restaurants, bars and shops including plenty of antique shops.
“Not your chain hotel”
What a fun place - right on the water, walking distance to downtown shopping and good restaurants. Rooms were very clean, but need to realize buildings are old. They ahve an interesting historical write-up that tells about all the famous people who have stayed there and the history of the compound. We will definetly go back.
“Location location location!”
We like this hotel for quick weekend get aways. It's an older hotel, but its clean, quiet, and you can't beat the location. Rooms are not big by today's standards, but we generally only sleep in our hotel room, and with a pool and florida weather who wants to sit in a hotel room? Room are always clean and staff is super friendly! Perfect for a weekend get away!
“Can't wait to go back... Don't miss this gem!”
If you are looking for character and charm then you have found the right place. My husband and I stayed here in January 2010 after the Antique Extravaganza in town. The room was very clean, and the staff was very pleasant and professional. We loved all the character and detail in the room. The location is beautiful. It is situated right on the Lake Dora, and in the historical district where shopping and dinning is only a short walk away. There was even a musical performance in the park Sunday evening. The only disappointment we had was that the room did not have a coffee maker, but they do serve coffee in the lobby at the main in. We will be staying there again in February, and are looking forward to it.
“Great historic Inn.”
The Lakeside Inn is a step back in time in historic Mt. Dora, Florida. Expect to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay without the hustle and bustle found in larger tourist areas. Varied shopping and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the Inn. Most friendly hotel staff.
“Could be Great.”
The Lakeside is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. The rooms that we had were semi-rustic in a charming New England sort of way, however the pillows (for me an important thing) were the worst I'd encountered in any hotel - fat, all foam rubber, and not comfortable. The room air/temperature control system was retrofitted and large, standing on the floor. When turned on it is very loud, also the windows were painted shut and it would have been nice to be able to open them for the sweet December air outside. We really enjoy Mt Dora and will be back, probably at the Lakeside, but I may have to bring my own pillows.
“old but charming”
especially responsive and pleasant front desk staff
