We stayed here for one night for a wedding reception. It is clean, well laid out, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Our room on the 7th floor had a great view over Leicester, facing the Roman Jewry Wall site. We had traveled from Bedford up the M1, and our satnav led us straight into the hotel car park.
There was a tv in the room, and a kettle and drinks. It would have been nice to have a fridge to put our drinks in, but it was okay.
We paid for the breakfast. I was a bit worried about not being able to eat anything because I am a Coeliac (gluten free), but the hotel kindly provided me with a gluten free toasted bun, which I ate with scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato and mushroom. Very tasty. I could see that people were cross-contaminating the breakfast by picking up sausages containing gluten and other items that should have been gluten free with the same tongues. For some coeliacs this could be serious, but I used tongues that were furthest away from the gluten containing items. I didn't get 'glutened', which was good. Every dining experience for a Coeliac is a risk. Strangely, I was offered soya milk with my tea, so I dont think the staff understood what gluten was, or what it can do to a coeliac at all. Never mind. I survived to tell the tale. Since we originally come from Leicester we will most certainly be visiting the Holiday Inn again. Hopefully for longer.
