Nice hotel but had a issue with the bed!

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The facilities were good, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming
Cons: A new bed for the room we stayed.
Location: We went to JapFest 2 in Donnington park which the hotel is situated very nearby.
When we arrived the hotel staff were really polite and friendly which felt very welcoming. The whole hotel was very clean, including our room, the reception and the swimming pool facilities. We had a major issue with bed, due to it being very noisy and hard. My boyfriend did not very well due to not feeling comfortable. I would recommend the hotel purchasing a new bed in that room. We stayed at this hotel because it was very near Donnington Race Track for JapFest 2.

Lovely helpful staff.

Great location. The rooms are a good size, but slightly dated and need of some renovation. Beds aren't as comfortable as budget hotels I have stayed in, but still good. Towels are slightly ragged and I'd be using them to clean the car, but mixed in with some new towels. Opening windows were nice and allowed air flow. We stayed both in a normal room and a deluxe room. The main difference being that the room was slightly bigger, you get an adjustable shower, and get nuts, sweets, water and wine on your first night. Hotel staff are all really friendly and helpful, which was very nice. Internet is pricey, with no complimentary time use in your rooms. You do have access in the front area near reception though! Breakfast was amazing, and by far the best I have had in most of the hotels I have visited. Freshness and quality was very pleasing, and the kids enjoyed their pancakes (made on request.) I have given 5* despite concerns over towels, beds and deco, as I still enjoyed my stay, with the attitude and helpfulness of the front desk staff making up for points lost!!! Hilton should be very proud of their staff, but need to invest a little money in some renovation!

Immaculate hotel close to airport & motorway

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Quiet, immaculately clean, very comfortable room.
Cons: Could do with providing free wifi in rooms (though it's free if you have a BT Internet account you can use to sign in) and free parking (charge is £5)
Super clean, efficient and friendly staff, comfortable room.

Not bad but could be better.

Booked a 1 nights stay with my wife. Check in was permitted from 3pm and we arrived at 7pm after a long drive. Arrive at the hotel and our room was not ready. We had to wait for 25 minutes. No compensation either. Breakfast was not as good as I was expecting for a Hilton.

Lovely stay - excellent value for fly and stay

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: I love the rooms and the free of charge safe in the wardrobe is excellent
Cons: Beds were a little creaky when turning over!
We always stay at this hotel before a holiday - whether it is an early flight or not! Transfer both to and from the airport is always quick and efficient and the hotel rooms are really, really lovely.

Easy to find hotel, easy check in

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Some pieces of furniture in our room a Room 335 were a bit tatty
Location: Central location and easy to find other areas near by
We enjoyed staying for the one night recently. Hotel staff very helpful and breakfast was brilliant. My only criticism was that our room was a little tired in places, but very clean.

Comfortable hotel reasonably close to airport

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The meal in the restaurant (dinner). Very good.
Cons: Supply sheets for beds. Why do hotels insist on only one stiflingly hot duvet? Parking- guests will soon have to pay for parking!
Location: OK. There are better more convenient hotels closer to East Midlands airport.
Overall the experience was good. The room was comfortable, food and service in the restaurant was good for both the evening meal and morning breakfast. The gym was full in the evening - too busy.

Surprised by £5 Parking Charge

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: It was clean and breakfast was fine.
Cons: See above - parking charge.
Booked this hotel on the basis of the headline price. Just needed a bed for the night after an evening event. We often stay in the area at nearby hotels but on this occasion Hilton looked like the best price. Maybe I missed it when booking but was shocked that they wanted £5 parking charge. This is like Ryanair stinging you with unexpected 'extras'. Come on - Just add £5 to the headline cost and let the parking be free. I will not be staying there again.
