Overnight stay for graduation ceremony.

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: Nothing was too much trouble, all staff went the extra mile to make our stay a comfortable one. The extra touches made our stay a memorable one.
Cons: Take away the car park fee - it is not necessary and is just a way of increasing revenue. Hotel room prices were expensive for one nights stay!
Location: Close to motorway, on outskirts of city centre. Near to Fosse Park shopping area.
Close to the motorway, yet only a short drive to access Leicester centre. Entrance was welcoming, and the staff were helpfull as soon as we walked in, without being overpowering. Our rooms were clean and welcoming too. We decided to stay in for our evening meal, and thoroughly enjoyed our Spanish buffet - lots of variety and options to choose from. Again the waiting staff were very attentive, and when they overheard us discussing plans for our son's graduation the next day they appeared first of all with a glass of champagne for him, and then later with a dessert (quite coincidentally his favourite!) with 'Congratulations' written on the plate! A thoughtful touch, which made him feel special and added to his overall graduation experience. On the down side the cost of a bottle of wine was much more than we would have paid in other restaurants for the same brand! Breakfast was substantial, with lots of variety, and the check out experience was straightforward too. The only grumble was having to pay for the car park overnight - it seemed to be just a way of collecting extra revenue, and not necessary.

Very disappointed when wifi got cut off

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Modernity and spaciousness
Cons: Better bathrooms with stand alone shower units rather than bath tubs.
We couldn't connect to the internet in the morning and check on our business updates, had to make calls instead which incurred unexpected expense. Needless to say our children were extremely disappointed as they couldn't get on social media and were thus bored for the whole trip. The internet was "down" for the entire weekend we were there and receptionists did not explain well. This certainly spoiled our entire weekend.

Not cheap - great hotel - but not inexpensive.

Service was great - great breakfast - considering the cost of room - it might would have been a good PR for the hotel NOT to charge 8 (pounds) for parking. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Good hotel, however disappointed with 2 matters

I had pre-booked a disabled facility room, this was not provided. I requested tooth paste from house keeping, this never turned up. Also house keeping do not answer the phone for a long time. The above points led to my dissapointment. Otherwise the hotel is quite pleasant.

Leicester Marriott

Pros: Clean and efficient.
Cons: Difficult to locate. Can see it from a distance but the one ways and ring roads drove us around the bend!
Excellent short stay Hotel. New modern building and rooms. Quiet surroundings - a business park.

Much more to be improved.

Location good, right near to M1 but quiet. However the food was below my expectation, not value for money. The main dishes we ordered were plated in big bowls with slanted edge. It was difficult to cut our food in such bowls. The music inside the restaurant was so loud and not pleasant to hear. Worst of all - towels with big spots of dirty marks were found; when asked to replace, another dirty towel was sent!!!

OK, but could be better

Pros: nice rooms, and leisure centre (pool and gym)
Cons: free wifi
Very imposing building, but room was cold for the first 24 hours. Restaurant is nice, but food took over 45 minutes to be served. No free Wifi in rooms
