“Well-located, designer hotel in Leicester”
Reception staff courteous, helpful, and efficient. Room was of adequate size and contained a sofa as well as a double bed. But my request for the duvet to be removed from the room - there is no storage space for large items like that, and a summer heatwave was on - went unheeded. So i removed it myself from its cover (as I usually have to do in any hotel these days) and left it on the sofa. And guess what?...
...The housekeeping staff put it back in, so for my second night I had to take it out a second time...
Lovely wetroom shower, but for practical purposes the liquid soap/shampoo bottle is mounted on the wrong side of it. And though the WC is not cramped, you need to be super-supple to get at the toilet paper...
The soundproofing is not as good as expected; noisy guests could be heard during the night through the bedroom door, and traffic noise through the window. A mid-night false fire alarm was also a sleep disturbance. No explanantion or apology for this was offered.
The good-size flatscreen TV offered a vast array of stations, mainly selling things, but no foreign ones besides Russia Today and Al-Jazeera (in English).
A 50% discount on food OR a 25% discount on alcoholic drinks applies during a 3-hour long happy hour, but non-alcoholic beverages are excluded from this, so must be considered unhappy drinks.
All that apart, my stay was uneventful and very pleasant. I would happily stay again - but would try to remember to bring earplugs.
