Nice Apartment but you need a car or bus ticketPosted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Very nice apartment. and cheap option for Edinburgh
Cons: Hot water system. Temperature cycles up and down by a t least 10 degrees C.
Location: Lovely view of harbour and city, but nothing to do within walking distance.
Arrived at 4pm check in time, Office still closed. After a phone call, someone arrived and checked us in. We then realised that the apartment is a separate building block, after we carried all our bags in to the "lobby". However, the apartment was perfect for us. two bedroom with spoacious living/dining/kitchen. Washing Machine. Free internet.

Ok hotel, not child friendlyPosted Jun 12, 2014
Just stayed one night. Apartment was clean and well maintained. Our main negative point was that we were in a penthouse suite so quite high up. None of the windows had safety catches to stop them being opened fully and although they and the balcony door had locks, we were not given a key to lock them. With 2 young children it left us a little concerned to leave them alone. For adults only it's a great apartment at a good price.

A Great DissappointmentPosted Jun 6, 2014
Pros: It was clean and had a nice view
Cons: The advertised facilities should be in place before guests arrive and an acceptable standard of service support in place!!!!!!!
There was no cups or beakers for drinking and no other crockery available. The attitude of the staff was curt and and non welcoming. Definitely will not be using these facilities ever again and will be pursue restitution for the organisation not providing the facilities advertised.

This is not a hotel, or a serviced apartment.Posted Jun 2, 2014
Cons: The description
It's just a jaded grubby flat on the outskirts of the city... No bar, no reception, no room service no staff (just a caretaker)

Apartments with great views on higher floorsPosted May 29, 2014
Pros: Size of the apartments and the cost. Not far away from Bus service, shopping (ASDA (Walmart) and a mall are pretty near by.
Cons: WIFI, WIFI, WIFI. Staff to call when there is an issue.
Location: Britannia Oceanic (The queen's yacht) shopping, ASDA and mall. Good Seafood Restaurants.
The City suites are apartments owned by individuals. You get what your owner thought fit to add to the apartment and so your experience may vary. We actually got to stay in 2 apartments and experienced it first hand. One apartment 6/24 (in Building 6) had modern furninshings and was great to staty at. The sliding door to the balcony was a bit difficult to open and close but great experience. Washing Machine was difficult to figure out as well. Our second appartment was 5/21 right underneath 6/24 and had the same layout, but the kitchen and furnishings were different. All would have been great, except there was no hot water - AT ALL!! The worst part was that there was no one to call to get it fixed. The absence of hot watered totally soured our stay at this appartment. So while there are cost benefits to renting the apartments, be ready for surprises. We were about 15 minutes away from the Edinburgh city center and it was not a problem at all. In fact there is a tour bus stop about a mile or two away at the Britannia Oceanic site that takes you into Edinburgh and you can get around the hassle of finding parking in the city.

Good LocationPosted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed in the Penthouse apartment and the location was really good for the price we paid. The flat was not clean though and there were stains all over the carpets, if they actually cleaned the place it could be really nice. It has not been maintained as you would expect.

Nice flat!Posted May 26, 2014
Nice flat for a short stay. Lots of room in the 2 Bedroom and great view of the city and the water. Was clean. 3pm check in is a bit late though and no wifi access was available like the site said. Also, free parking is only if you can find a spot. We had no problem.

Very happy with the stayPosted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our stay at the City Suites during our trip to Edinburgh. We stayed in the penthouse apartment and it was neat and spacious. There was everything that you would expect in a hotel apartment including full kitchen range. The master bed room had a small view of the sea and most of the famous places could be spotted from the main room. The checking and checkout process did not take much time and the person at the front desk was polite and friendly. There was frequent bus service right outside the apartment and not much far from the city. I would highly recommend this hotel apartment.
