Staff at check-In didn’t have a clue, the place stunk of damp, the fire alarm went off at 6am for 30 seconds waking everyone up, bar staff were friendly! The hotel is ok if you just want somewhere to sleep for one night max, other than that I would pass.

The hotel was as expected . It is a very old building with uneven floors & dark oak wood & beams. The decor was in keeping with the age of the place but a little tired in places. Breakfast was adequate but a little slow due to staffing levels. All the tables needed a good wipe down as they were very sticky.

when we arrived we had to go to the bar to get our keys as it was about 7 pm . when we got to the room up many steps and corridors we eventualy found our room. the room was ok but they had only left one of every thing when we had booked for two. the following morning we were then charged extra for breakfast which we thought we had booked for it to included. the staff was not very friendly they were talking to them selves never asked we wanted anything extra. it was a not a very good rest .I was glad it was only for one night. would not recommend it .

We weren't overwhelmed by the hotel. The room was clean but decor was very tired. There was a huge crack in the sink. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the room was very cold when we arrived (and I'm someone that likes a cool room). It was also noisy overnight with some fan or air conditioning equipment outside our room (room 12). The continental breakfast display was uninspiring, it took 15 minutes for toast to arrive and the teapot showered the entire table with tea. The woman on reception was not friendly at either check in or check out. Location was good, in the heart of Leominster and free parking is a big plus, but overall it was an underwhelming experience.

We asked if we could change rooms to one on the ground floor which we appreciated. I had to report that the showerhead needed replacing, however apart from that we were pleased with our stay.

Decor and furnishings are in dire need of updating. No lifts, steep stairs. Bedrooms still have the smell of the smoking era.. Location is excellent. Good parking .Staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we will not stay here again due to the negative comments above.

Something different
Remarkable old character building formed from four separate buildings. Lots of atmosphere but a few drawbacks...low ceilings in some areas, sloping floors and steep stairs. Well located in the town and free parking.

Old inn with faded grandeur. Room was comfortable and clean with all facilities you would expect for the modest price I paid. One irritation was a shower head that was the wrong design for the vertical column, meaning a hit and miss shower - why do that?. Evening meal was moderately priced and acceptable.

The hotel room was clean and the breakfast excellent. But the room was noisy, there was an event in the downstairs function room which was very loud in our room. Luckily we were out all evening and the noise stopped by about 12.30. The staff were very helpful & friendly. But the hotel is tired and in need of significant investment.

Booked a room with en-suite facilities so shocked when we checked in to find no shower in the room. Complained to reception about it and the young lady behind the desk apologised and offered a free breakfast as all rooms with showers had been given out. Not even shared showers available. Decided to have a bath instead, but couldn’t do that either as there was not enough hot water for a bath. The room was dirty, very basic and a complete disappointment. Stay away from this place, it’s so dated it belongs in the 19th century.

Back again. (Use it on our way back from scotland)
staff very friendly. No remote for tv in room. Was offered to change to another room but as we had unpacked decided to stay. Food good and well cooked. Waitress got the breakfast request a little wrong but I'm sure it would have been changed had we asked. Overall a good place to stay. Service very good.

The worst value hotel I have had for sometime. To find our room we were directed a door directly in the car park with weeds growing around it. Luckily the card did not work so had an "upgrade" to room inside the hotel. The room had the most unreliable internet - constantly getting "wrong password" msg suspect due to poorly setup wifi extenders. On checkout receptionist initially tried to charge me for room even though had prepaid. Avoid if possible

Sad old hotel in a sad old town.
How this hotel got three stars from the AA, I don’t know. Seemed to be unloved and uncared for. We had planned to have dinner there but the menu was very limited that we went out instead. Leominster seems to be full of downmarket takeaways but we did find a very good Italian restaurant called MILANO. After our night’s sleep we decided that we would not bother with breakfast at the hotel.

The staff at the Talbot have already heard my complaints. They were very apologetic and gave me a discount for which I was truly grateful. But there were too many things wrong for me to have just been unlucky. If they want this hotel to get good reviews, they need to get more professional. Warning - this hotel does NOT take dogs, as specified on numerous websites.

Decent old fashioned hotel
Large old town hotel above a pub, this no frills hostelry has all you need for a place to stay over when passing through. The shower was poor, with only a gentle trickle of warm water, and the whole place was rather dated in its decor, but decent enough for the prices charged. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of it, so good value if you are hungry.

Stay away!
Booked hotel as overnight stay whilst on business. Would not be checking in until just gone midnight and the hotel advised this was ok as there was a night porter. Waited 30 minutes before being let into the hotel and another 15 minutes before being shown to my room. It was a family room with 3 beds and it had clearly been occupied and not cleaned. Half pint of beer on the bedside table and used towels on the bathroom floor. I was shattered and needed sleep so I turned down the unused bed to be greeted with a brown sludge type substance smeared on the pillow and bedding. Attempted to talk to the staff but there appeared to be a language barrier.

Had to park overnight in public car park as hotel spaces full with wedding guests. Had difficulty getting hot water to run in shower in morning. No indication as to where breakfast would be following wedding if there was any so left without.
