"Scenic view, attentive staff, friendly island"
We could not have had a better stay on Saint Martin. The hotel grounds and views are just like the pictures - turquoise waters, clean white sand, Mediterranean architecture. The hotel is well-located on the French-Dutch border, making it easy to get a taxi to anywhere on the island quickly (which the concierge always booked for us). A few extras that made the view and service that much better: the roasted chicken at the beach bar cafe; the watersports staff (30 min jet ski on open water was a delight even for a non-swimmer); evening turn-down service; L'Occitane bath products; gift of a 6" chocolate egg on Easter morning. This hotel far exceeded our expectations.

"Needs some practical work"
I enjoyed my stay at your hotel, BUT, it was not too American friendly. For instance, there were no adaptors for the current and they could not suggest a place to get it. The restaurant was not open on Monday night, there was no posting saying it would be and no one was able to suggest restaurants in the area. Despite all of this, when a local crew was on duty, there was better communication and when my room key failed to work, John had it up and running in no time. The views are beautiful and the pool was great. WL .

"Nice Hotel"
The hotel is located on the French side of the island in a gorgeous cove and far away from all the hustle and bustle of the Dutch side. The beach is really nice and water was beautiful. A tip to everyone staying here, if you want a chair with an umbrella (beach or pool) you will need to get up pretty early to secure one (before 7am) or you can just show up and tip the staff around $10 a day and within 15 minutes you will have the same. We didn't eat at this hotel more than on meal a day, which was breakfast and although it wasn't anything special it was as you would expect from an all inclusive place. We ate mostly outside the hotel, and although this might seem silly (i.e. to purchase an all inclusive and eat out) the Riu has the best accomodations on the island. We had a suite which was really nice, but was on the first floor. Suggest you request second floor.

"Beuutiful View"
The hotel sits on the ridge above Anse Marcel with breathtaking views. Anse Marcel is a very safe area on the island within easy driving distance from Grand Case, Orient Bay and Pinel Island. This is a small hotel with very friendly and helpful stuff. Every one of our minor concerns were promptly addressed (e.g., broken coffee maker). They drive you to close destinations (such as nearby restaurants and the beach) if you wish. The hotel room we had was very spacious and comfortable with the most beautiful view of the valley below. You can eat at the hotel, if you wish; they serve a continental breakfast (we eat elsewhere).

"A Nice Little Surprise in St. Martin"
At the price we paid for this hotel, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Captain Oliver's. Our room was large, clean, spacious, open and bright with a nice view of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only complaint we had was that the bed was a little stiff and the pillows were a bit flat.

"Charming hotel with beautiful view"
We so enjoyed our stay at the Grand Case Beach Club. We stayed in an oceanfront studio, and even though we would have preferred a one bedroom, it lacked nothing in charm, comfort, and amenities. The water was absolutely gorgeous and the hotel was within walking distance of great restaurants. The staff was very friendly, and kudos to Yuri who took great care of us on the beach and suggested excellent restaurants. We will be back!

"Great Hotel, Great Location!"
I stayed here the week of 4/20 and I had a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, clean room (great AC and privacy) and great proximity to the beach and restaurants. The French restaurant at the hotel was excellent for breakfast and dinner and CoCo Beach had the best drinks, and lunch, in addition to being just beautiful! Friendly staff at restaurants and hotel. Just a great experience. I would definitely return!

"Nice hotel, but not for us"
1) you will need some French. Most staff speaks English as well as a US student learns French. 2) "deluxe king" was nice. mini balcony (we overlooked pool, others would be over a courtyard. most would have diagonal views to lagoon), twin bed for the kid. Well swept each day, but they always took away the extra towels we worked so hard to obtain. Don't expect a hot shower during the "getting going in the morning" or the "getting ready for the night out" rush periods. 3) Not a mini-fridge, but a Peltier thermoelectric cooler mounted inside a box where air doesn't circulate. If you leave the box door open (and hit your shin) it will get down to about 50F. 4) Nice buffet breakfast. (check if in your package) Expect you to dress for dinner - no kids menu. No walking distance places for food from 3pm to 7pm. 5) Pool deck under renovation - keep the flip-flops on. The real issue was that liner leaking, so 10% new water everyday meant it was cold. 6) Lagoon nice to sit by, but too much shallow sea grass to swim. Swimming beaches require car. Nearby ocean ones too rough (but nice lounging). Watch sunrise/sunset over mountains. Our prepaid package included all but 7E a day in resort fee. But overheard others paying "service" fees.
