My trip started off rather odd. I arrived for check-in and the clerk was sitting in the lobby and it smelled of weed. He told me that it was the policy of the hotel that customers be allowed to review their room before accepting. He proceeded to give me a room key and allowed me to go up to the room. I should point out that during the check-in process I was the only white person checking in, none of the others checking in were allowed to view their room before paying. I can only assume that I was allowed to view the room first because I am white.
The bed linens and towel (there was only 1 bath towel, no hand towels in either the bathroom or kitchen) were dirty. As I had already accepted the room, I chose not to complain about this issue. Instead, I went and bought my own stuff. There was only 1 pillow which was hardly a pillow at all. The floor was not carpeted and I understand that this means that it gets dirty easily. The next day, after my shower, I noticed that the bottoms of my feet were dirty from walking on the floor barefoot.
The second night I was there, I had been out with my sister to see a movie and came back to find my keycard wasn't working. Luckily, someone had failed to lock the main doors. The emergency contact was hard to get a hold of, I called 20 times before I got an answer.
My last issue was the lack of handicap accessibility. Not in the room, as I didn't have an accessible room, but in the parking. Few handicappe parking spots and none were ADA.
