Business Travelers BEWARE...

Posted May 4, 2014
Or anyone who wants to sleep BEWARE. Clarion sticks Expedia travelers in the far away sub-standard rooms where their staff and late-night partiers like to hoot and holler. At 2am a drunk staff member and his girlfriends woke me up with their trying to get into my room. I had it bolted. I saw the Clarion nametag on the guy in the hall. At 3am 30 drunk partiers crashed and hollered until 6am when my alarm went off. Whatever you do--don't let them put ypou in the back rooms. Insist on staying by the lobby or don't stay here. I will not attempt a night with Clarion again.

Unimpressed overall

Posted May 1, 2014
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Showers ran hot with good pressure. Hotel room service was good. Restaurant was pleasant and tasty.
Cons: Overall condition of the rooms. Update the havoc units to quieter ones. Improve the calibre of front counter staff.
Location: Good proximity to the horse park which was our main reason to be there. Close to hwy so traffic noise will be an issue for some.
Coming from Vancouver, BC where hotels can be pricey, we had modest expectations for a King room at $120/night. However we were still disappointed with the condition of our room which seemed clean but very worn - stained carpets, marked furniture and a musty smell. The weather varied quite a bit during our stay and so we used both the heat and cool components of the room's hvac unit - both settings were extremely loud when they kicked in so we just settled for having the fan on low setting. We live in a busy area so the highway traffic noise was not an issue for us, though it might be for some. However our room was adjacent/above the lobby and for some reason a number of folks felt it was ok to stand under our window at 1am and have a loud chat. They moved along politely when we asked them to, but it would have been nice had the hotel staff saved us the trouble and dealt with this for us, and right away. Really that point just exemplifies the generally disinterested attitude of the front lobby staff. On a brighter note, the restaurant room service was prompt and polite and the gym was clean enough if a bit cramped and humid. The bed was very comfy but the other factors meant that we never got a great night's sleep in the week we stayed.

Convenient Location

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Update rooms, include fridge.
Good condition for an older facility. Room condition was fine. Bring a cooler, no fridge in the room. Kids liked the fun center with pool and basketball court. Free breakfast was not worth the walk from the room, however, it was a busy weekend. We were in town for the Rolex event at the Horse Park. Breakfast selection was pretty sparse.

We will stay here every chance we get!

Pros: Happy, helpful staff. Plenty for the kids to do in the Fun Dome. Continental breakfast was great.
Great experience. The kids (ages 7 and 13) had so much fun they wanted to just stay there and play instead of going out and doing other things in town.

Nice hotel for the price. Location was great.

Pros: It had something for the kids and something for the adults.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. There were a couple of issues the first night : the heater rattled ALL night long and kids were running up and down the hall, but the second night was better. The Breakfast was good. They were really, really busy on Sunday morning but the ladies working there did a great job of keeping items on the buffet table and cleaning tables.

Great hotel

Very nice hotel!! Stayed for a business trip and my room was very large and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was by far the best hotel continental breakfast I have ever had. Room service was also nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
