“Total dump lnext to an abandoned hotel”

The room was dirty with bugs. The landscaping was horrible - dead flowers with no mulch. The hotel next to it was abandoned with graffitti. Check out was 11:00 a.m. and my card was deactivated at 9:00 a.m. twice! I had to wait in line to get it fixed so I could get in my room.

“internet pictures look great, hotel not so much”

First of all, Check in is at 4 pm with no exceptions made for me. That was alright, i did understand. After entering my room, I found a very run down, bug infested room. The shower curtain was covered in mildew and the carpet was badly stained. Simply stated, this was a very bad hotel for a moderate price, you can do better!!!

Area recommendations

The Hamburg area is a great place with plenty of dinning and shopping close to numerous hotels. Most of the hotels are clean and neat, just not this one.

Dining

Nearly all major restaurants in one central location. Lots of variety, steak , Seafood, Mongolian, Chinese, Italian, you name it , its there.

“One Night Stay in Lexington”

We only stayed one night. The room was nice and they had a great (free) breakfast in the morning. The staff was nice.

“Excellent hotel”

I was very pleased with the hotel, and it's location. All the staff was helpful and took extra care with the cleanliness of our room. The hotel was well maintained and although not the newest on the block, I was very happy with the facilities. The pool and the jecuzzi were very nice and well maintained. We stayed three days and did not have a complaint. The interaction between the manager/owner and staff was commendable. Everyone seemed happy which makes for a great stay. The veiw was wonderful. I would stay there again.

When to go

There are many places to see. North or South. We went to the Cherokee Reservation and should have continued up through the Smokey Mountain State Park. We didn't leave enough time for the park and couldn't stop to admire everything. Be sure to stop at the waterfalls on the way, there is only a small sign pointing them out, but it was beautiful. The local restaurtants were very good. I would recommend them. Ashville was 20 minutes away and is party central at night. If you want to go tubing there is a local place, we drove up to Tennessee and then found the local one. Tennessee had a far cheaper zip line and we were sorry we didn't have time for that.

“Nice but beds not comfortable”

The hotel was clean and in a good neighborhood. The indoor pool and hot tub was good. The only bad thing was the beds and pillows were not comfortable.

“family enjoyed fully”

had a great stay and with Cracker Barrel in the back yard it was fantastic. The only thing that was well, wrong was that the cleaning staff needs to also clean the shower under the rim saw small amount of mold there but all else was great. We appreciated the small refrigerator and microwave in the room and the pool was very nice. rates were reasonable and the breakfast was nice also.

Must see

Natural Bridge State Park and the Horse Museum are both well worth the visit. We went to natural bridge in the morning and the site was beautiful. When we left we stopped at the museum and even though we were not into racing horses but we have a couple ourselves the information and the horses are beautiful. That was a visit well done

“Reasonable but musty”

The hotel is reasonable for the price but definitely smells dank and musty. For a one night stay it was ok, but I would not want to stay longer.

“Okay for a quick business stay, not a great vacation spot.”

Positives: Breakfast was good (waffles, yogurt, sausage...it changes every day). The pool area was clean. The people at the front desk were helpful and nice. The bed was comfortable with lots of soft pillows. It's right across the street from Walmart in case you forget something, and there are two gas stations just on the corner. Very convenient. Negatives: The top bedspreads were dirty or stained. The back of the toilet was not very clean. The jets in the hot tub/spa didn't have any power to them, but it was hot enough to ease tension anyway. The location isn't the prettiest part of Lexington for out-of-towners to experience. It was only about a 15 minute drive to get to UK campus, but it would have taken a lot longer on a weekday.

Area recommendations

Stay close to Keenland Horse Park, the airport, Fayette Mall, or UK campus. Those are prettier, nicer areas. I don't know if there are any hotels there, but if you're from out of town, a helpful tip is that Nicholasville Road has the best restaurants and shopping near Fayette Mall. Also, If you want to see horse farms (I overheard several guests say they'd like to see some) you should set your GPS toward Frankfort (without interstates). Or take HWY 60 toward Frankfort...there are some lovely horse farms out that way.

“Avoid if possible”

I am interested in using the exercise facilities and was surprised to find the hotel does not open the room until 7:30AM. The bathroom toilet would not stop running once flushed, the computer in the lobby area for guests access the internet and print boarding passes was the slowest computer I have seen in 15 years. WinXP running on 125MB ram is ridiculous. Everything else for the trip was satisfactory.
