Not worth the money!

When you pay 160 dollars for a room, you expect the bed to be in great shape, it had more lumps than oatmeal.

Outdated and Noisy, Noisy, Noisy

Pros: That it was located near the Horse Center and convenient to gas station and restaurant.
Cons: Most everything. Carpet, furniture, etc. and get rid of that man who wears the earring at the front desk. He could obviously could care less.
Location: Location is great. Near the VA Horse Center, near restaurants and fast food and also Wal-Mart and gas stations.
Desk clerk was not friendly. He would not even look at us. He muttered his lines and emphasized, "NO PETS" which we didn't have. We climbed the outdated staircase with outdated carpet to our room which was right beside the staircase. The room was spacious but the carpet was outdated and had stains all over it. The chairs that were in our room had big grease spots on them. The refrigerator was not working. It stayed hot all night. At bedtime, we could hear everything outside of our door and because it was right beside of the staircase, we heard stomping up and down the stairs most of the night. I noticed also that there was a 2" gap under our front door where you could see the carpet out in the hallway. Our toillet stopped up one night at midnight and since my daughter was asleep and I didn't want to wake her, I had to unplug the toilet myself with a coat hanger - yuck. You would think the plumbing would be more sufficient than that. The fitted sheet that was on my bed was worn out because it would not stay around the mattress and kept coming off - very annoying. The "free continental breakfast" they serve was just okay - not enough fresh fruits & the buscuits were hard & cold. The lady serving the breakfast though was very pleasant. The only good part of the stay. Parking out front was inadequate and there was a ball field out back with a game going on which was very very loud. We visit for horse shows frequently, but I will not be staying here ever again.

Pros: Proximity to VMI
Cons: Smell of the rooms
The smell upon entrance to the room was overwhelming. Not a clean and not a dirty odor, just not pleasant, musty.

Just okay.

Woman at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. She even called to see if I could remember the second thing I wanted when I was at the front desk! Senior moment. The hotel seemed a little worn - the rugs throughout showed wear and stains. Across the street was an Appleby's and a 7/11 was right next door with a Subway. Convenient for going to VMI.

A nice facility but overpriced

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The included breakfast was better than most hotels in this price range ,there was a wide range of options. We stayed two nights for a local wedding and would recommend staying here.
