Staff is very friendly, room was clean and Maria always brought extra coffee when we told her we were big coffee drinkers. Watched dolphin and pelicans from our balcony. Lovely beach, lots of amenities! Have stayed at the Sand Castle often and am never disappointed!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Gulfside Motel. We were a three minute walk from a quiet stretch of beach, and just a 10 minute walk from St. Armands Circle. We stayed in a studio apartment, and it had everything we needed. The full size refrigerator was a huge plus. We even grilled steaks on the gas grill in the courtyard on one of our nights. It is an older motel with an "old Florida" charm. This is not a resort. If you want to stay in a resort, the hotel across the street would suit you better for around $250 a night. Parking was a breeze, the manager was extremely helpful and polite, and the area is completely safe for walking at night. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I cannot wait for our next stay.

We were in Florida for a family vacation in the Orlando area at the beginning of the week and attending a wedding in Dunedin later in the week. So we had a little time in between to venture out and I really wanted to take my daughters to the Sarasota area to see the Gulf and The Ringling Museum. It was a last minute decision so I woke up early Wednesday morning to find a place to stay on the beach and I discovered this gem of a place which I got the last room available. How lucky! I didn't have any high expectations of what I would find when I got there. However my daughters and I were blown away by the beauty of the beach and how incredibly nice the room was. It was so welcoming to see a kitchenette with a full size table and chairs, new carpet and fresh paint. The location was so convenient to restaurants and shops, we just loved the city circle. Plus being right on the beach how could one go wrong with that! In addition, the staff was so friendly. My only complaint is we didn't have enough time to enjoy everything that was offered. Although we are planning a return stay but one week instead of one night next time. Coquina on the Beach is a little gem that I'm so glad I discovered.
