OK room with a dreadful sewer smell.

Pros: Location was OK, very close to the old Lijian town
Cons: Strong sewer smell from the bathroom
Location: You will need to walk quite a bit (7-10 minutes) to the hotel from the street. No taxies are allowed to enter the street.
Expedia shows this hotel as 4 stars. I saw it rated at 5 stars... It is ABSOLUTELY NOT a 4 star hotel. The sewer smell from the bathroom permeates the air and is dreadful. The paint is pealing off in many places in the room and in the bathroom. I would not stay at this hotel again. If I were to go there again, I would rather book a room in Suhe Village. Lijiang is too commercial for my taste.

well situated for pick-ups and drop offs the yi bang residence offers friendly staff who speak good english and are always there for advice. Our room was spacious and well appointed with two wide screen TV's and a lovely bath. Security was very good and breakfasts if somewhat 'samey' were perfectly acceptable. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Hint.....early september is wet night and day!!!

Stayed for 4 nights. Staff were always very friendly and attended to our every need. The included breakfast is a choice between cooked western or chinese, plus buffet including sweet pasties from their own bakery. All newly renovated so everything looks brand new (only the quirky technologically-advanced "mood" light switches make things a little difficult). The general manager personally made sure we were happy with everything throughout our stay. This is luxury at an affordable price.
