Despite a misunderstanding where arrangements for airport pick-up was a no show my stay was comfortable and all agents were friendly and extremely helpful.

The hotel is ok but the problem is the booking system. I booked a room for a friend who was arriving in the evening to Lilongwe so paid through Expedia so he could just arrive and rest but upon arriving at the hotel the hotel did not have his name on the system and he had to wait a long time and then he was given a sub standard room which he accepted because it was late at night so their booking system needs to be updated to a better system so that they have people's bookings on their computer to avoid these unnecessary delays when guests arrive . Apart from that it's a nice hotel

Bathrooms let this hotel down
Although this hotel is tired looking. The food, service and cleanliness were very good. Sadly the lack of care and attention to bathroom details let this hotel down. Maintenance is required in most bathrooms. Showers don't work properly and toilets leak. If you book a double room for 2 people you have to ring house keeping in order to get a second set of towels. The toiletries are very hit and miss as to weather you get the full complement or just one or two bits.

The room was old and needed maintenance. The toilet wouldn't flush, the sink wouldn't drain. Theres no power point next to the bed. The service at breakfast was poor as was the quality of food. The toilets next to Vincent's are old and in such a bad state for a nice restaurant. The only thing that was good was the food - ordered room service and the food in Vincents. the concierge staff are also very friendly
Nice to have a pool. Would be nice to have better water pressure. Tub/shower is oddly plumbed and very slippery. Only one bath towel provided. Staff eager to help. Breakfast is good. Be sure to put Do Not Disturb sign out if you do not want staff entering your room.
Outstanding staff service, excellent amenities, good food, nice location, quality of rooms just average to good- a few signs of temporal wear and tear in the bathroom, but nothing major. Highly recommended!
Stayed at the Capital during a 5 week business trip. The staff wete very attentive and friendly and the room was cozy. The gardens were nice with many quiet places to sit and work. Internet was ok at tge beginning but towards the end it waa barely functioning. Breakfast was a bit boring after the 3rd day as the menu started repeating. Food was decent but not exceptional. Vincent's was perhaps the slightly better one of the restaraunts. Pizza, although raved about, was not veey good. There are much better food options around for cheaper.
A bit far to Old Town, but quite a few decent shops and restaraunts/cafes nearby (short taxi ride).
All in all, it was good value for money.
I absolutely love the staff at Sunbird Capital extremely friendly, welcoming and efficient at their duties. I enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the peaceful environment. The pool needs some work and the housekeeping staff needs to be mindful of having loud conversations in the hallways especially early in the morning.
All good. The outdoor dining area downstairs makes for a good working and dining environment.

Comfortable but unsatisfying
I have stayed here often before but find little improvement in overall condition of hotel and services.Its a comfortable hotel and one can get by adequately - but WiFi is very poor, food is average at best and service variable.
Service was excellent. The initial greeting and the attitude of the head concierge was one of the best I had experience. His service and good humour alone is good reason to return to this hotel. The hotel is excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Lilongwe.

pleasant stay
Staff are always there to help, the rooms are dated and could do with good remodenising. But all in all a please Stay. The hotel has great potential and situated in a perfect spot.
4 nights business trip, hotel very close to the office, quiet sleep and good bed and pilllows. No so much activity in the area if you are looking to often go out but if it is a place to rest after a day of work, it is a good choice.

My booking with hotels.com was not correctly received by the hotel! As result it caused me inconvenience and over 12 pounds international call with the hotels .com to sort out the problem!
The hotel is in pleasant surroundings, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was buffet style both hot and cold foods served. The evening meal (champ fillets) was very nice. I would stay again.
It was a good experience. The room was clean and the staff very friendly.
The bathroom was not that great because there was no air pressure to help with taking out the smell out of the bathroom.
However the air condition was working across the room to put off the bad odor.
The restaurants are great.

Great Stay
The staff was great. The rooms have been updated since I was there last. They have very convenient switches next to your bed to control all lights in the room. Even better than most hotels in the use as far as that goes.
The staff was extremely kind. The food was ok. better than most restaurants in Lilongwe for comparison.
I have stayed at several hotels in Lilongwe and this is the best I have experienced there.
I will come back and I will recommend to anyone.
