The hotel is beautifully decorated, especially the public areas. The small courtyard pool is surrounded by colorful flowers. The only downside: my airport pickup did not arrive. Had to call and wait a while late at night,

Clean, friendly service but some details to improv
The room was super clean and fresh scented, and the personnel were helpful and kind. The location is also excellent. The bedroom had everything we could need including bottled water. One thing we didn’t like was the loud music by the pool starting at 8 am and until past 11 in the evening. Also, we could hear a kid crying full night in the next room. I understand not much can be done about the kid crying, but I am surprised that the neighbours and other hotel guests would not complain about the music. The area is pretty residential so really unexpected. I asked the reception to turn it off by 11 pm and they did but I wonder what about the morning—I am a morning person so not an issue for me but maybe for other people?

We took a trip in the middle of our stay and they keep the luggage we did not need and brought it to our room when we returned. The staff is great. Most of them speak English. They are extremely helpful. Our room included a kitchen and it made it really convenient to make our own food and have space to work and relax.

I can not Recommend Peru Star highly enough ! This was a last minute find on Expedia and it was excellent in every way. This is proprietress Lucy's labor of love and you can tell. The attention to detail is incredible. it feels like you are in a dear friend's home. The rooms are immaculate and have every amenity imaginable - TV, micro, fridge,dishes, etc. The restaurant is fantastic. The San Isidro location is perfect - walking distance to stores anda huge mall, yet quiet and relaxed, and just a few minutes to taxi to Miraflores. Book this one, and you will be happy !:)

Good for family, comfortable but some improvement
Some positives and negatives at Peru Star GREAT We stayed in the 2 bed unit. It was massive, had a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathroom and a comfortable lounge room. Although in need of a modern upgrade, we found it very comfortable. All staff were also helpful and worked hard to fix some issues. GOOD The pool was handy, but opened to the public and their dogs. There was a loud noisy party in the restaurant on Saturday and some children didn’t seem to know where the toilet was leaving the pool dirty. Also outside guests were smoking and drinking by the pool, not the type of environment for our young family. BAD The Wifi dropped out several times. Staff worked hard to provide us with a mobile wifi which worked briefly. This was an issue for us.

Internet was an issue uncontrollable unfortunately it was a non scheduled maintenance the central supplier made so we didn't know and we did suffer as much as you did! Lovely, quaint and comfortable stay at the heart of San Isidro. The rooms were very nicely laid out and with all amenities. The staff is friendly and helped us plan our stay and gave recommendations on places to see. There’s a shopping mall in walking distance and a fair number of eateries around the neighbourhood to enjoy local cuisine. easy access to get to Miraflores and surrounding neighbourhoods. Highly recommended and will stay here again if i am in Lima.

Spacious hideaway in a nice local neighborhood
Due to our connecting flight back to San Francisco at Lima airport getting delayed until midnight, we needed to get out of the airport and spend 1 extra day in Lima, which we had visited at the beginning of our trip. I decided to use the spotty airport wifi to do a last minute booking for 1 room nearby so the 5 of us could keep our luggage and shower. And that's how we discovered this gem. If you travel with family to Lima, this is where you should stay. The San Isidro neighborhood is much less busy and polluted (as compared to the central Lima District). The staff were super nice and friendly, and their restaurant cooking was surprisingly good. I will definitely stay there again next time I'm in Lima

Superb local hotel
The hotel is beautiful. I love local hotels like this. I arrived quite late, and they still were very accommodating. I would stay again. There was an issue with the water, but nothing I couldn't work around.

Nice hotel and centrally located
Nice hotel, the restaurant serves good food. The hotel WiFi works sporadically around the buidling. It goes on and off and is frustrating if you are using the hotel for business. The hotel is a great value.

Great Place for families to stay in Lima
This was a great place for our family to stay. The rooms are large with extra beds, extra rooms and a kitchen with everything. The rooms are cute. The patio and downstairs is nice. It is a nice refuge in a pretty unremarkable city. The people who work here are great. We arrived on an 5:30am flight and arrived at the hotel. They had our room ready by 9am. We would definitely come here again. Very, very nice for families, I want to share again. The only negatives are the breakfast is pretty much nothing (like most of Peru) and you have to take a taxi to get anywhere interesting. But that is not that expensive or a big deal. There is a large mall within walking distance and some good restaurants.

This place is just OK
We visited in the relative off-season for tourist travel in Peru (beginning of March). The hotel was just ok. Our room was extremely hot (no air conditioning), and the included fan was underpowered and did little to help. There were also tiny bugs in our room, including the bed. Can't say that the staff was overly friendly or helpful. The breakfast was nice, but not free. This hotel does have some local Peruvian flair, which is nice, but at the time of our stay there was construction going on in the courtyard by the pool which made the ambiance noisy and uncomfortable. The pool was slightly dirty and jacuzzi did not work at the time of our stay.

Nice hotel in a beautiful neighborhood
I chose this hotel ONLY because they are pet friendly and I'm super happy I wasn't disappointed with the overall experience. My family and I stayed in the family room apt. It got all the essentials for a confy stay. The room/apt was extremely clean. The hotel is in a safe and nice neighborhood. Walking distance to the mall and restaurants. The hotel's restaurant was also really good for both service and food. I recommend this hotel 100% and I'll be back but next time I'll stay much longer.

Nice non-chain hotel in great location
I had a great stay in this individually owned hotel. My room was very comfy! I had a whole kitchen with table and living room. The bed was very comfortable and everything seemed very clean. Staff was very helpful with any questions I had, calling a taxi, recommendations, etc. I would definitely stay there again

Our experience was wonderful here. we loved the comfort of the hotel, the great service and security, and also the TV with an English option. However the wi-fi was a pain because you had to re-sign in every few hours. But overall it was our best stay yet.

Fantastic place to stay
I only spent one night here between a lay over. The room is very clean and so is the bathroom. Staff are friendly and speak both English and Spanish. So here is my critique. The bed is firm very firm, I don't sleep on a firm mattress so It was rough going. The room has a air conditioner but every time it turns on is so loud it would wake me during the night. Finally just a note after 8 or 9 pm they turn off the hot water so be sure to get an early shower.

Amazing Hotel and Staff!!
Amazing staff. We had some delays and issues with our tours and the staff was amazing and helping us reorganize our trip. Breakfast was wonderful. The room was wonderful and very spacious. It was a breath of fresh air in the midst of our crazy start to our trip. We are grateful.

Home From Home in Lima
The 'room' is really an apartment. It was larger and better equipped than some places that we have lived in. The bedroom was great - with a large cable TV. The bathroom was fine - with a big shower which had plenty of hot water. We didn't make use of the pool - but it looked fine. The bar and restaurant was great and offered a range of meals at very reasonable prices. Little added 'extras' like a free DVD service, maps of the area, attractions, and communal seating areas made the place very homely. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when next in Lima. It is a little far from the 'centre' of town - but taxis are inexpensive and come straight to the door.

Lovely neighborhood, easy to walk around.
Went to Archeological Museum and Huaca Huallamarco by taxi but also shopped locally for groceries. Apartment had full kitchen and was very clean. Staff friendly, spoke English, organized transport to/from airport. Computer available in social room to check internet. Restaurant also friendly and food good.
