“Peru Star was easily worth every penny.”
Although we were only in Lima the last day of a two week trip to Peru and Bolivia, Peru Star was one of the most memorable places we stayed. The staff (James) went above and beyond the call of duty, even walking me down the street to give directions and food recommendations. I would have loved to stay here a few days more and explore the city. It's too bad that we had heard bad things about Lima, because we definitely wish we would have spent more time there. This hotel is in a residential neighborhood and features a beautiful courtyard that they pull right into after picking guests up from the airport. The room itself was fantastic and even had a very nice kitchenette, though we didn't use it. One thing to note is that while this is centrally located in a very upscale neighborhood, you will need to take a cab to get to get just about anywhere (Miraflores or downtown Lima). I think it would be best for someone looking for a relaxing extended stay destination, or home base for a work trip. James did teach us how to negotiate with the cab drivers, and gave some basic safety tips. If I ever go back to Lima, there is little question about where I'll stay. Peru Star was easily worth every penny.
