Hotel which has the home feel to it. Great service provided. Breakfast was great. Great location near the main plaza in Barranco. Easy taxi distance to Miraflores. Also, nearby you can take the safe and really effeciernt metropolitano bus system to downtown Lima. My family and in-laws stayed three nights at the hotel. Only minor complaint is that the rooms will get chilly in the winter.

Beautiful and unusual hotelPosted Jul 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Fantastic hotel in wonderful large old mansion covered with artwork. Back yard, boasting several sculptures, backs on bluffs to ocean. Personal service from owner during very simple breakfast. Really a neat experience!

DisappointingPosted Jun 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Changed hotels about 2 weeks before we left for vacation as read how great this hotel was! The building is beautiful, lots of character. Was actually the most expensive hotel we had booked in our 16 days , for breakfast we were offered scrambled eggs or fried eggs!! That was it! No cereal, no fruit, just plain old egg and toast! Orange juice, coffee, the coffee was good! Hotel was clean and artwork interesting! Staff seemed disinterested , although did order taxis for us when requested ! Wouldn't stay there again for the price, if it was in the price range of some of the other hotels we stayed then I would!

Amazing, one of a kind hotel in the best areaPosted Apr 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel itself is a gorgeous, 100 year old mansion with a beautiful view of the pacific. The hotel feels like a combination of a house and an art gallery, which it is, and the art is also incredible from the world famous artist, Victor Delfin, who is an icon in Peru. Although the hotel does not have the amenities of a traditional hotel, the intimate setting and small staff means that you are getting very personalized hospitality. If you're looking for room service, a gym, and on-site pampering, this is not the 5-star hotel for you. If you are looking for a beautiful, romantic, and one-of-a-kind hotel experience in a great, safe neighborhood, then stay here -- if you're lucky enough to get a room.
Delightfull place to stayPosted Feb 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff at 2nd Home Peru was absolutely the best part of our visit. Add the great view over the coast with a thoroughly charming old home on a nice street and I would not consider staying anywhere else when visiting Lima. If you are looking for a fitness center and conference room, this is not for you. if you enjoy a sincerely warm atmosphere in a beautiful space, you will have found the spot.

Great Bed and Breakfast in nice area of LimaPosted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: Their helpfulness!
They were incredibly helpful. They arranged for pickup and transfer to airport. It was so nice to come out and see a man waiting for us with our name on a sign. They made an excellent recommendation for restaurants within walking distance. The views of the ocean from the room are lovely. The breakfast was excellent and they served it 1/2 hour early so that we could make our airport connection. It is a home that is decorated with the works of the artist that owns the place. His sculptures are in the yard also. The only downside was room didn't have a door that closed off the toilet area. There was a barrier but no door. And the shower is in a bathtub (movable shower wand).
Quite possibly the best hotel experience I've everPosted Jan 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
great neighborhood, friendly staff, made to order breakfast, clean, quiet. Located on a bluff over looking the coast, ocean breezes, lots of lounge areas surrounded by art pieces. perfect.

Unique hotel, beautifully finished, gorgeous room, amazing sea views, spotlessly clean, reasonably priced, very friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast. Rooms overlook sea from top of cliff, but road below very busy and noisy. Barranco is lovely, worth exploring, but Lima is not so nice.
