Perfect LocationPosted Jan 24, 2015
Pros: Ideal location, with excellent facilities. Short walk to city center and a 10 minutes ride to Shannon Airport.
Cons: Perhaps the parking situation could be improved. The fee was reasonable, but validation of the ticket on each exit a bit onerous.
Location: Excellent location overlooking the Shannon River and the city center. A short walk to the city center and the famous historic sites.
Clean, modern, well run hotel with friendly, helpful staff.

Arrived late on business so did not eat. Room was a very good size with all mod cons as expected. Bed was comfortable and the room was quite.

Generally a nice hotelPosted Jan 4, 2015
It's a nice hotel, wouldn't rate it 4 star though. One night heard everything from the room next to us didn't get any sleep. Complained and we were offered a free lunch. Ordered room service a couple of times, food came up luke warm and things were forgotten. However the room was nice and it's close to town.

Central in cityPosted Dec 29, 2014
Short stay but very relaxing and clean. Bar was very quiet for Christmas Eve eve and felt bar staff weren't happy about me arriving late. Rest of staff and service very warm. I'll be back.

Christmas in IrelandPosted Dec 25, 2014
The only bad issue was the lack of any hot water pressure. I asked them to tend to it it it was no better the next morning. I had to shower in another room I had rented for the rest of the family.

Nice hotel, especially for business travellersPosted Dec 15, 2014
Good location, good breakfast, good bar food (didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment), 5 min walk to city centre, 20 min drive to shannon airport. Professional staff. Can't really ask for much more. Swimming pool area could do with a revamp if I'm totally honest - still a very useful facility to have though.

Great central locationPosted Nov 27, 2014
Location: 1 hour cliffs of moher, 2 hours blarney castle
Always hard to find accommodations for family of three. Not only did we have a great triple room, it was an excellent great value hotel, clean, well appointed, spacious. Food was awesome too, great location for touring western ireland

Friendly & Convenient HotelPosted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: Location was good for most purposes. You can easily walk across the bridge to get to shopping and restaurants. Parking is off street and a plus.
Cons: Lighting in rooms: need a nightlight in the bath and better lighting for reading in bed
Location: Curragower Bar and Locke Bar are a must for food and drink; King John's castle, shopping etc. in town centre.
Stayed a whole week at The Strand in November. Used it as a base for day trips around Ireland. Utilized the breakfast offering most days, parking most days and dinner a couple of times. Breakfast was great and dining room staff very friendly and accommodating. Dinners were a bit pricey but good. Rooms were very clean and beds pretty comfortable. Everything looked new - bathroom was very impressive. Most of Ireland is within a day trip of Limerick - we did Cork, the Cliffs, and Galway in separate day trips; Adare (sp?) is 30 minutes away; we did an overnight in Dublin although it is only 2.5 hours by car. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this facility.

Lovely hotel by the river and city of limerick.Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: It's closeness to the city you can easily walk around it. It's not to far from the airport. The kids loved the pool and we loved the lounge area.
Cons: Housekeeping-the bed covers were just thrown on top, didn't always hoover, cups washed in basin. Room was small for 4 of us. Had to ask for hand towel
Location: Brilliant location shops, malls, bars and restaurant close by. And right by the river.
Second visit to hotel. Love the amenities near by and the buzz of the city. Kids love the pool in the hotel. Will be back again.
