“Clean comfortable room but ....”

I stayed in one of the superior rooms. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and well equipped. The shower was excellent, although I thought the bath looked a little shallow. There was plenty of storage space in the room. No view, but I wasn't there for that, so it didn't worry me. The staff were friendly and helpful (if slightly rushed off their feet). Breakfast was varied and plentiful. But - the room was not sound proof. I could hear the couple in the next room and everytime anyone walked down the corridor or talked outside the room (including the workmen setting up the Allington Suite for the next event at 7.30 in the morning) the sound travelled in. At the very least there could be a sign in the corridor to remind people to be considerate? In summary, fine if you are there for a conference or to break a journey but I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic weekend away.
