Great view.Posted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: The staff and their excellent service.
Location: Site seeing cafes, beaches, bars.
We stayed in the older part of the hotel overlooking the ocean. It is an older hotel with lots of charm and a very caring staff and super clean and an excellent breakfast buffet. The service from staff is one i had not experiened before our car had lost air in one tire and before we even noticed they had filled up the tire. The room service, we had a nap and when we returned to our room our bed had been made and there was port wine in our room in the afternoon they brought us a bottle of water and some biscuits. There were slippers and robes in the bathroom.

An eccentric but lovely hotelPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Great location. Excellent service
Cons: The building is certainly old and this might not be for everyone
Location: Right on some rocks above the ocean just steps from the beach, it is hard to beat the location
It is. A small hotel in a beautiful location, but it is really the staff that make this a 5 star hotel. They are extremely helpful and accommodating and made us feel very welcome. If you are looking for a pristine square box then this is not for you, but if you want to listen to the waves at night and enjoy great food and service during the day, then this hotel is the best

Great Hotel, close to the beach.Posted Aug 1, 2013
Pros: The rooms were awesome, big and great views. Beautiful terraces
Cons: The helpfulness of the front desk
Location: The view from the dining room and eating terrace is stunning. It overlooks the beach. You could walk everywhere, dining, sight seeing etc.
The location is wonderful, you can walk everywhere. The food is good, the rooms are big and the views are beautiful The front desk is helpful, but many times they acted as if they were too busy for you. The doormen and the bell hops were outstanding.

Great location but...........Posted Jul 13, 2013
This was an great location and Cascais the place to be rather than Esteril. Great views over the beach abd sea. We were probably expecting more from this 5 star hotel- it was looking as though it needed a bit of TLC with broken umbellas and faded loungers around the pool and a lick of paint here and there wouldn't come amiss. Bathroom fittings falling off and the shower adapter didn't work requiring the bath to be filled with the shower. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful, dining room staff were mostly but not always obliging. However still had a most enjoyable stay, but might try a different hotel next time.

CASCAIS BY THE OCEANPosted Jul 7, 2013
Pros: Convenience of having Cascais at my doorstep.
Cons: Patio/pool umbrellas need to be replaced more often. So I am really picky!!!!!
Location: Best location in Cascais of any Hotel.
The best location of any Holtel in Cascais. Steps from the train and bus station. Steps from the public beaches. All the ambience of Cascais restaurants are also at your disposal steps outside the Hotel. The Hotel breakfast buffet was the best I have ever experienced (much to the chagrin of my own and wife's waistline). If you ask for a Seaview room you will be pleasently surprised. You actually will get one!!!! The pool area and view from it, is also to die for. We will never stay at any other Hotel but the Albotroz for future vacations in Cascais, Portugal.

Great hotel for a short breakPosted Jun 13, 2013
Pros: Room and breakfasts!
Cons: Pool was a little small
Location: Ideal location above the beach and close to the town
We stayed for 5 nights. Hotel service was excellent and we had a lovely room overlooking the sea. Location of the hotel was very convenient too - close to the train station and right above the beach. Would have been nice to have had tea and coffe making facilities in the room itself - but otherwise everything was just right. The restaurant was really nice - especially breakfasts overlooking the sea. I'd recommend the Albatroz to anyone!

Perfect location for beach, village and LisbonPosted Jun 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Wonderful hotel, enjoyed our visit thoroughly. Service was excellent, location was perfect, right on the beach, 100 meters from the train which takes you into Lisbson and a short walk to the village of Cascais which has lots of excellent restaurants, cafes and sights.

Nice hotel but rooms need updatingPosted May 10, 2013
Unless you are lucky enough to bag one of the few rooms in the old palace wing of the building this hotel trades on it's stunning sea views and superior staff service to paper over the cracks of what is no more than a 4 star hotel. The rooms are adequate but are overdue for refurbishment and don't justify a 5 star rating. Personally I found the beds too firm, the linens scratchy, the room was so plain it looked undecorated and the carpet was old and dated. The main disappointment was that I had booked a double deluxe room with seaview but the room we were given matched the photos displayed of a superior room on the hotel's own website. So if a deluxe room is important to you I'd book the Palacio half a mile up the coast in Estoril which really delivers on that score :) All that aside this is not a bad hotel by any means though - polite staff, amazing seaviews, great breakfast buffet, very well located for the beach, restaurants and the charming town. Masala Indian restaurant is highly recommended! Just don't cough up for a deluxe unless you are assured of one of the handful of real deluxe rooms (which funnily enough major in all the website photos on Expedia). Otherwise you might as well just opt for a superior with seaview to get exactly the same experience without feeling short changed.
