lovely modern hotelPosted May 28, 2014
Pros: everything, including the spa
Cons: the music in the restaurants
A lovely mini break, all staff attentive and friendly at all times. Décor and ambience really relaxing, view of boats and sea from window added to this. The food at breakfast was plentiful in range and all to a very good standard. Both restaurants had lovely food, the Michelin 5 course tasting menu was one of the best I have had go!

Location: the location was good several national monuments close by including the Belem tower,Jeromimo church and cloisters, the mariner museum.
The breakfast was wonderful as were the views of the river and marina and the spa.We swam every day in the pool and used the free shuttle bus to the city

Modern Hotel in quiet locationPosted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Location & spacious room
Cons: The electronic blind in my room once opened became jammed and had to be closed manually by the hotel staff.
Location: Walk to the famous Pasties de Belem! If only the monks who created the little custard tarts all those years ago knew they would become so special.
Stayed at the Altis Belem Hotel & Spa in March. Location is nice and quiet on the river front, a popular jogging route for locals. There is noise from the train that runs until quite late. Great sunrise over the bridge. Rooms are spacious and clean with modern open plan living - not suitable for everyone's taste due to glass shower in the middle of the room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was fresh with plenty of choice. Easy to get into the center of Lisbon and down the coast to Cascais & Estoril. Felt there was a lack of inviting areas for residents to sit in the common areas, there is a strange setup on chairs facing each other with four TV's all on different channels. There is nice seating outside, but it is attached to the bar, so you are brought a menu as soon as you sit down, and it's not cheap! Having umbrellas in the room came in handy as we were unlucky with the weather on the last day. Overall a really nice experience, but not sure I would return.

Lovely spa hotel, helpful staffPosted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: Spa, comfort cleanliness & staff
Cons: All good
Location: Convenient for marina & monastery, Belem tower, explorers monument and modern art gallery
Lovely spa hotel convenient location for monuments in Belem, within walking distance. Shuttle bus from hotel into city centre a bonus. Great food, and very helpful, polite staff.

totally relaxingPosted Mar 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
had a wonderful time, very relaxing, except that they wanted to charge 3.5 € for a nespresso that was in my room, totally incongruent to the rest of the hotel, also they had this cheap disposable wine opener that didn't open a bottle of water, I mean just have a bottle opener as well.!!

Chic and modern hotel out of the city centrePosted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Being able to open the huge window in the room (we hate air conditioning), the spa and the cafe - terrific food. Excellent service.
Cons: We were very hot in bed - artificial duvet/mattress topper? Lovely bed linen, however.
Location: Out of the centre of Lisbon, further down the Tagus estuary, just near the Torre de Belem. Accessible by public transport from the centre (tram).
Everything about this hotel is 5* We would recommend it and shall return

A bit too cool for schoolPosted Feb 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
They staff were exceptional. However, the hotel has a lot of large open spaces and was very quiet so felt a little impersonal and cold. Also, the rooms are a bit dated now and there is significant wear and tear to fittings (esp bathroom). Also, no shower in the bathroom which was a bit annoying.

Excellent hotel on the river close to Belem areaPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: Location, comfort , room , sun terrace on top floor, spa facilities .
Lovely hotel ideal for both relaxing and exploring lisbon. Very friendly and helpful staff . We had a superior room and it was excellent, with very comfortable beds. Ideal location for the tourist sites around Belem area. Drinks expensive though.

Nice stay at Altis BelemPosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great location in Belem, and warm and helpful service, including welcome pastries and bottled water in our room on arrival. The transparent walls of the shower and bathroom were a slightly alarming design feature - one for the exhibitionists! As we arrived late we ate in the hotel bar/restaurant. Food was fine but unexceptional, and rather overpriced for the standard. Breakfast next morning was good.
